It’s got the hefeweizen yeasty and wheaty flavors and aromas, but then it has a really neat hop aroma and flavor that you don’t usually get in hefeweizens or weizen bocks. I really like this. Awesome. dkachur (2388), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 7, 2008 750 mL bottle from Whole Foods Charlottesville. Pours a very hazy light orange color. Medium head with good retention. Aroma is strong piney hops with a good sweetness balancing it. Taste is floral and pine hoppiness with stone fruit. Very nice. eaglefan538 (2383), Wilmington, Delaware, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 14, 2008 Pour was typical of a hefe, huge-mongo head, standard cloudy golden-yellow body. Aroma was floral perfumey, good hop and phenolic balance, bananas take a major back seat, but still there. Flavor follows suit, an enjoyable brew, although I’d like a simpler cleaner hefe on any given day of the Summer. Honestly, this was quite similar to the Schneider-brewed version, imo, not sure why it gets another entry just for location of brew. Ah well, all good. Beerlando (2340), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 19, 2008 Bottle at GOBF ’08. Pours a lightly hazy medium golden color. A foamy, off-white head shows good retention, leaving some nice lacing behind. Aromas are heavy on caramel and overly ripe bananas, with a hefty spice billing that includes cloves, nutmeg, and cinnamon. Though its on the sweet side, the nose is pretty inviting. Flavors do not disappoint, basically continuing the theme of spiced bananas and caramel, with perhaps a touch of rum cake thrown in for good measure. I can imagine some nice dessert pairings for this beer (bananas foster, perhaps, or maybe some vanilla bean crepes). The medium-full, sweet body skirts the line of being cloying. Overall, this is a very enjoyable beer. Nice collaboration here. drewbeerme (2291), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 21, 2008 750ml bottle. 2008 release. this is my congratulations for finishing grad school brew!! pours hazy golden-auburn with foamy white head. a nice big floral hop aroma, banana, citrus, cloves, citrus. and spicy. wonderful nose. flavors are citrusy, banana, a bit grassy with peppery, clovey finish. full mouth feel with lively carbonation. i think i prefer the hop profile of this over the schneider-brooklyner version. the hopped up hefes are great. alexanderj (2268), Chino Hills, California, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jun 18, 2008 Bottle; poured a ruddy orange with a big of white head. Lasted quite a long time. The aroma was amazing; flowers and citrus with banana/bubblegum complimenting it; a touch of sweetness. Flavor was good, but not quite as good as the aroma. A nice balance of banana, spice and hops. Very hoppy for the style. eally easy to drink, luckily its not overly alcoholic. Would have liked some more banana in the flavor. Overall, the aroma stole the show a bit. shigadeyo (2263), Harrison, Ohio, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 27, 2009 2/26/2008: Brooklyner-Schneider Hopfen-Weisse pours a cloudy golden color with a foarmy white head that has good retention. The flavor contains rye and is slightly fruity with hints of sourness, mint?, and green hops. Very interesting... Flavors include wheat, yeast, spice, and some warming alcohiol. It is a bit bitter, but balanced and somewhat dry like rye would imparct. It has some acidity as well. It is medium-bodied and feels soft in the mough. This beer is unique and a bit difficult to describe. Overall I like this particular beer better than the Schneider & Brooklyner Hopfen-Weisse version.
Serving: Bottle shared with Tmoney99. Rating #323 for this beer.

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 18, 2008 Medium hazy gold, big lasting head, attractive. Aroma is complex, with light clove, banana, and lemony citric notes. Flavor is a full wheat flavor, definitely letting you know that it is a weizenbock. Clove and banana yeast notes come through well, with banana edging out the clove. This is a good thing, as it works better with the hops, which add a lemon and orange bitter finish. Enjoyable. This combination worked better in my opinion than the New Glarus Unplugged Imperial Wheat. Enjoyed this quite a bit.
