Commercial Description:
This Beer is served on DRAFT and in 750ml BROOKLYN bottles.
In May 2007, Garrett Oliver traveled to the 400 yr-old Schneider brewery in Kelheim, Germany, to brew Schneider-Brooklyner Hopfen-Weisse. This was dry-hopped with the local Hallertauer Saphir hop variety. In July, Drexler brought his yeast to Brooklyn and brewed Brooklyner-Schneider Hopfen-Weisse, choosing the American Amarillo and Palisade varieties for the dry-hopping. Now you can taste the result, the latest beer in our Brewmaster’s Reserve series. The beer has a full orange color and the aromatics pair the banana and clove notes from the Schneider yeast with the mango and citrus qualities of the hops. The bitterness is robust but balanced, and the beer has a clean, hoppy finish.
Brooklyner-Schneider Hopfen-Weisse pairs well with Caribbean seafood preparations, crab cakes, jerk chicken, Thai cuisine, Szechuan cooking and many Mexican dishes.”

Medium hazy gold, big lasting head, attractive. Aroma is complex, with light clove, banana, and lemony citric notes. Flavor is a full wheat flavor, definitely letting you know that it is a weizenbock. Clove and banana yeast notes come through well, with banana edging out the clove. This is a good thing, as it works better with the hops, which add a lemon and orange bitter finish. Enjoyable. This combination worked better in my opinion than the New Glarus Unplugged Imperial Wheat. Enjoyed this quite a bit.

20080514 750ml bottle. As the cork is disgorged a huge tropical fruit aroma emerges followed by some dank Amarillos. Oh boy, this one’s a treat! Attractive cloudy golden color with sticky, medium sized white head. besides the pungent hops, there is an underlying wheaty sweetness and fruity, doughy yeast that carries through the flavor and right to the finish. Soft, full, somewhat lip smacking palate and brisk finishing bitterness are entirely complimentary. Lovely stuff. this is the kind of beer that, if offered regularly, could really boost the value of Brooklyn in my eyes.

GABF 2007. Hazy yellow body with wheaty and malty nose. Plenty of hops as well. Wheat in the body with citrus hop and a spicy finish. Very very spicy in fact. 4

(draft @ The Old Toad - Rochester, NY) Hazy yellow color with a mound of creamy white foam. Aroma is a nice and balanced mix of hops, bananas, wheat, cloves, and other spices. Flavor has a nice sweetness at the beginning that mixes with bananas and yeast, and is then followed up with a smooth and floral hop middle and a slightly bitter yet sweet hop and banana finish. Very interesting and tasty brew.

Golden orange, very large white head, excellent lacing. Aroma is of light spice, lots of lemon citrus, yeast, floral, lots of perfume. Flavour is floral, spice, insane amounts of perfume, lemon and orange citrus. Spicy mouthfeel, medium body, high carbonation. Finishes long, a bit warming, wheaty, yeasty with moderate amounts of citrus.

There was lots of perfume in this one, becomes much as times. The alcohol is a bit noticable but the perfume dominates.

750ml bottle obtained in a trade with TheJester, thanks Andy.
Opened on December 31, 2008.
No date.

Starts with a huge white head over a cloudy lemon yellow body. Orange marmalade aroma with some spicy pepper notes. Dry, yet sweet with a smooth palate. Very Nice WeizenBock.
