Commercial Description:
This Beer is served on DRAFT and in 750ml BROOKLYN bottles.
In May 2007, Garrett Oliver traveled to the 400 yr-old Schneider brewery in Kelheim, Germany, to brew Schneider-Brooklyner Hopfen-Weisse. This was dry-hopped with the local Hallertauer Saphir hop variety. In July, Drexler brought his yeast to Brooklyn and brewed Brooklyner-Schneider Hopfen-Weisse, choosing the American Amarillo and Palisade varieties for the dry-hopping. Now you can taste the result, the latest beer in our Brewmaster’s Reserve series. The beer has a full orange color and the aromatics pair the banana and clove notes from the Schneider yeast with the mango and citrus qualities of the hops. The bitterness is robust but balanced, and the beer has a clean, hoppy finish.
Brooklyner-Schneider Hopfen-Weisse pairs well with Caribbean seafood preparations, crab cakes, jerk chicken, Thai cuisine, Szechuan cooking and many Mexican dishes.”

Golden orange, very large white head, excellent lacing. Aroma is of light spice, lots of lemon citrus, yeast, floral, lots of perfume. Flavour is floral, spice, insane amounts of perfume, lemon and orange citrus. Spicy mouthfeel, medium body, high carbonation. Finishes long, a bit warming, wheaty, yeasty with moderate amounts of citrus.

There was lots of perfume in this one, becomes much as times. The alcohol is a bit noticable but the perfume dominates.

750ml bottle obtained in a trade with TheJester, thanks Andy.

Growler via puddintane’s secret santa: Pours a hazy yellow gold with a white head. Aroma, bananas and yeasty notes, wheat, and bready malts. Flavor, lemons, yeast, wheat, light fruits, some floral and citrus hop notes. Pretty tasty.

Hazy golden in color, which eventually becomes opaque golden (with yeast) when you get to nearly the bottom of the 750. Aroma- alot of citrus and tropical fruit, with some vanilla, clove and wheat in the background. Taste is hoppy with citrus, mango, but not over the top- light banana, vanilla, clove and wheat make their appearance nicely and relatively in balance. Alcohol well hidden. very nice.

From the Growler of Eyedrinkale at PP SAF. Wheat and tart aromas. Citrusy hops too. Flavor was similar with some fruit, citrus and slight wheat twang. Very good.

Draught. Growler filled at Superstar Beverage in Huntington, NY. They had a tough time filling the growler becuase the head was so lively. It never did fill completely. Pours a hazy yellow-gold with a thin white head (I think the head would have been thicker but for the filling problem at the growler station) that eventually faded to a thin white film that left light lacing on the glass. Strong aroma of lemons, wheat, some banana, and cloves. The lemon citrus was less noticeable in the flavor, while the wheat and cloves were more pronounced. Cloves were also present along with some black pepper. Light bitterness at the finish. This was a very different and very enjoyable beer.

Bottle - RFD. Hazed bright gold, fluffy white head. Lemon meringue and honeyed banana nose rides layers of grassy citrus and notes of spiced pine. Smooth spicy clove and yeasty banana flavors balance on big citric piney hop tones. Just great integration between the styles. Full bodied, soft carbonation, drying, fruity hop finish. This brew is rockin it hard! Great work here...

750ml bottle: poujred amber with a thick off white head. Moderate weizen notes of banana, clove, and bubblegum. Flavor is light banana and bubblegum with a big hit of bitter hops. Lightly citrusy with strong carbonation. Moderately dry with a big bitter finish. Good beer.

C&C 750. Props for a very classy looking label and bottle. Hazy yellow with a huge white head. Lots of carbonation bubbles. Spicy, sweet banana nose, clove and white pepper, light bubblegum. Beautiful sheet of white lace. Wheaty and hoppy flavors dominate - grass, lemon and grapefruit over wheat, spicy clove and pepper, mild banana. Medium body, satiny and bouncy all at once. Sweet grass, apricot and orange finish. Many of these crossover type experiments don’t work, but this one sure as hell does - well done!
