The aroma floral and citric hops, a hint of spicyness and yeast as well. The flavor is hop forward but well balanced. Floral and citric hops, light background spices and fruity esters. Very good, but I likes its German brother a bit better. SudsMcDuff (1712), was CapeTown,SA-now Houston, Texas, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 8, 2008 Bottle. 750ml. Pours out a yellow to brownish color with a thick white head on it. Smell is fruity and sweet. Some citrus flavors and perhaps some banana? Interesting to say the least. No alcohol present in the nose. Taste is smooth and fruity. Also it is a very easy drink. The 750 disappeared before I knew where it went. Good stuff, this is something that this brewery should make all the time. Not bad! theisti (1693), Leawood, Kansas, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 8, 2008 Updated: Sep 22, 2008750 ml bottle courtesy of Thaichile. Pour is hazed golden with a fluffy 3 inch white head. Big carbonation bubbles. Nice lacing. Aroma of big spicy Amarillo hops, wheaty grassiness and clove yeastiness. Very fresh nose. Taste is big pine citrus hops, smooth wheat and sweet cloves in the finish. Fresh like the nose. Sweet apricot in there as well. Palate is medium, mouth coating, with a high level of carbonation. Aftertaste is long, with a bunch of hop bitterness. As it warms, the taste becomes very one dimensional towards the hops. I will say one thing, the 8.5% ABV in this beer was masked exceptionally well. Nice one, thanks Mark. Odeed (1681), Bakersfield, California, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 14, 2007 Cloudy golden color with a medium white head. Aroma is fresh and citrusy with some banana, clove, spice and wheat detectable. Taste has a good amount of wheat in it with some noticeable citrus hop action going on. Lots of citrusy-spice wheat flavor with a tingly mouthfeel. Better than the German version, but still not the greatest, especially if they insist on calling it a Weizen Bock. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 7, 2009 (Bottle) Pours hazy golden with a white head. The aroma is a mixture of spicy and fruity notes from hops (Amarillo?), phenols and esters. Light band-aid, some clove, bubblegum, vanilla, coriander, fresh oranges, dried oranges, lime peel, dried apricots, pineapples, bananas, mild resin, flowers and fresh herbs. Malty undertones of toasted grains, crackers and dry toffee. I enjoy the nose; there is a lot of thing going on, still quite focused. Maybe just a bit too heavily spiced. Almost menthol and mint-like from time to time. The flavour is light to medium sweet, light to medium bitter and light acidic. Tones of light banana, grass, resin, orange peel, lime peel, palate-numbing fresh herbs, round wheat, dry honey and toffee. Clove, coriander and vanilla are also present. Well-hidden alcohol, there is only a slight warming touch on the finish. The mouthfeel is round and soft with a lively, medium carbonation. The aftertaste is drier with lingering spicy hops and phenols alongside a light citric sting. Medium to full bodied. A very well made beer; everything is well balanced and without any off-flavours. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 12, 2008 Bottle, compared at the same time as the schneider version. Pours a hazy medium-dark-straw color with huge white head that lasts longer than the german version. Great lacing. Amazing nose of lemon and wheat, without other distracting aromas. Clove, banana, lemon notes in flavor. Cloying semi-bitter finish, but nicer than the german version. Final verdict, Brooklyn brewed the better version.
