Commercial Description:
This Beer is served on DRAFT and in 750ml BROOKLYN bottles.
In May 2007, Garrett Oliver traveled to the 400 yr-old Schneider brewery in Kelheim, Germany, to brew Schneider-Brooklyner Hopfen-Weisse. This was dry-hopped with the local Hallertauer Saphir hop variety. In July, Drexler brought his yeast to Brooklyn and brewed Brooklyner-Schneider Hopfen-Weisse, choosing the American Amarillo and Palisade varieties for the dry-hopping. Now you can taste the result, the latest beer in our Brewmaster’s Reserve series. The beer has a full orange color and the aromatics pair the banana and clove notes from the Schneider yeast with the mango and citrus qualities of the hops. The bitterness is robust but balanced, and the beer has a clean, hoppy finish.
Brooklyner-Schneider Hopfen-Weisse pairs well with Caribbean seafood preparations, crab cakes, jerk chicken, Thai cuisine, Szechuan cooking and many Mexican dishes.”

Hazy beige with fluffy 2cm head. Incredibly appetizing aroma - yeasty, spicy, lemon, melon, pear...gorgeous. Lemony, marshmallowy body with firm pale maltiness and pepper alcohol. Light clove and nutmeg. Rich, but refreshing, Very complex. A fantastic take on the style.

Bottle at Beer Exposed. Probably the best aroma of the day. The grapefruit and the wheat. In mouth, so full and creamy and then liquid grapefruit on finish and sherbert hop. Outstanding. Harsher hop than the German version.

It is unclear, warm golden with a creamy head. The aroma has notes of hops, citrus, oranges and yeast. The flavour has sweetness and notes of aromatic hops, oranges, yeast, light banana and clove and in the finish I find notes of grapefruit peel. Very different, well made, but very far from German.

A Mes rate: 75cl bottle at Beer Exposed.
Beautiful clean-ish gold with an excellent white head (if poured carefully!). Massively good aroma. Astonishing fresh hops spill out of the glass and can be smelled at quite a distance. Just squeezed grapefruit and lemon juice and just citrus all over the place. F**king stunning! The flavour is so fresh and hoppy it is almost minty. A ton of hops that appear to have been added not more than five minutes ago. Gloriously dry. It’s just full on hop juice really but my GOD it’s good. Beautiful tangerine notes too coupled with a perfect level of sweetness. The palate feels a little over carbed at first but it calms down quickly and delivers the awesome flavour beautifully. Simply amazing stuff, I’m in love...

Bottle. [thank you, asheft]
Wonderful looks! Light hazy golden with a big, staying, frothy, off-white head. Great duration, lots of bubbles. Sublimely spicy and sweet wheaty aroma. A heavy load of coriander, wheat and lemony edge. Flowery and grassy hops. Fine, creamy mouthfeel with just the right amount of carbonation. Lovely flavour, lots of wheat sweetness, spicy balance, lightly vinious and a great, super-hoppy finish. Incredibly drinkable and lightly warming.
