Commercial Description:
This Beer is served on DRAFT and in 750ml BROOKLYN bottles.
In May 2007, Garrett Oliver traveled to the 400 yr-old Schneider brewery in Kelheim, Germany, to brew Schneider-Brooklyner Hopfen-Weisse. This was dry-hopped with the local Hallertauer Saphir hop variety. In July, Drexler brought his yeast to Brooklyn and brewed Brooklyner-Schneider Hopfen-Weisse, choosing the American Amarillo and Palisade varieties for the dry-hopping. Now you can taste the result, the latest beer in our Brewmaster’s Reserve series. The beer has a full orange color and the aromatics pair the banana and clove notes from the Schneider yeast with the mango and citrus qualities of the hops. The bitterness is robust but balanced, and the beer has a clean, hoppy finish.
Brooklyner-Schneider Hopfen-Weisse pairs well with Caribbean seafood preparations, crab cakes, jerk chicken, Thai cuisine, Szechuan cooking and many Mexican dishes.”

Bottle. Very interesting. Quite a bit of hops to it, but a god balance with the yeastyness. Banana and pine. Kinda weird, but in a good way.

Thanks mcbackus. What a beautiful bottle! It makes for a great presentation. Pours a nice cloudy golden hue with a huge white head that just will not subside. Big musty aroma of clove, , and lemon. Some hop, as well. Like the aroma, the flavor is also big and distinct. It is full of yeast, earth, hop, tart fruit, and alcohol. The hop has the dry effect that provides a nice bite to the beer. This offers many of the best traits of a dry hopped APA mixed with the best hefe notes. It sends the palate all over the place hitting all the right spots. It arrives in the mouth as a hefe, jumps into a dry hopped APA, and finally dry bitterness cascades in. Delightful, interesting, and delicious.

Huge spicy hop nose. Pours cloudy orange with a thick white head. Good citrus flavors, wheaty, and good german weizen yeast qualities, but there’s a big hop presence, spicy and citrusy. Very good.

Cool looking corked and caged 750. Muddy orange with active carb and a big, sticky meringue head that collapses leaving chunks. Nose is pine, juniper, wheat, banana and clove-coriander. While the aroma worked for me, the taste doesn’t quite come together. Resin cuts through the wheaty smoothness. Taste is spruce and caramel but quickly gin. Hot peppery finish.

750 ml cork and caged bottle purchased at Spirits RB. Well after the Schneider-Brooklyner alcohol bomb I wasn’t expecting a lot. Well like lots of other ideas in my life I was way off. This is one fantastic beer. Aroma is excellent with a large citrus hop prescence, lively yeast, slight wheat bread, banana and slight spice, very nice. Medium bodied with lively carbonation and a great finish make this one refreshing brew. Flavor has lots of yeast, dough, tropical fruit and citrus. This is one very nice beer Mr. Oliver cheers well done Sir.

Bottle shared with Ian. Cloudy golden amber with a huge white head. Lemon, banana wheat aroma. Wheat, lemon, clove spice, hoppy bitterness all show up in the taste. Finishes very dry and bitter, very good.

Rich orange color with super nice fluffy delicious head. Awesome malt hop aroma with some bread. Even smells smooth. Taste like cream of wheat and malty goodness. A little alcohol as well. Looks almost Nitro pour but regular tap. Heavy towards the end. Over 20oz pour.

750ml corked and caged bottle. Amber pour with a huge head, Aroma has lots and lots of hops mixed with lots and lots of wheat, and a good amount of alcohol. Flavour has lots of banana esters, and more hope, but the alcohol is again quite prominent.
