Commercial Description:
This Beer is served on DRAFT and in 750ml BROOKLYN bottles.
In May 2007, Garrett Oliver traveled to the 400 yr-old Schneider brewery in Kelheim, Germany, to brew Schneider-Brooklyner Hopfen-Weisse. This was dry-hopped with the local Hallertauer Saphir hop variety. In July, Drexler brought his yeast to Brooklyn and brewed Brooklyner-Schneider Hopfen-Weisse, choosing the American Amarillo and Palisade varieties for the dry-hopping. Now you can taste the result, the latest beer in our Brewmaster’s Reserve series. The beer has a full orange color and the aromatics pair the banana and clove notes from the Schneider yeast with the mango and citrus qualities of the hops. The bitterness is robust but balanced, and the beer has a clean, hoppy finish.
Brooklyner-Schneider Hopfen-Weisse pairs well with Caribbean seafood preparations, crab cakes, jerk chicken, Thai cuisine, Szechuan cooking and many Mexican dishes.”

Bottle shared with Ian. Cloudy golden amber with a huge white head. Lemon, banana wheat aroma. Wheat, lemon, clove spice, hoppy bitterness all show up in the taste. Finishes very dry and bitter, very good.

750ml corked and caged bottle. Amber pour with a huge head, Aroma has lots and lots of hops mixed with lots and lots of wheat, and a good amount of alcohol. Flavour has lots of banana esters, and more hope, but the alcohol is again quite prominent.

[bottle--8.5% ABV] Aroma like sniffing a hops vine! Lemony grapefruit with slight caramel and banana notes. Hazy golden orange wih lasting white fuzz. Plenty of hops flavour that has a lot more pine to it than the aroma, which was more citrus. Bitter grapefruit that is not too strong, when combined with the sweet caramel and full body. Smooth and with banana and vanilla notes in the aftertaste. Medium carbonation, slightly salty and with a little lasting bitterness.

750ml bottle. Sweeter cream of wheat. Spicy hops. Banana yeast esters. A slight hint of rubbery phenols. A bit of white pepper. Dawn dishsoap. The citrus hop aromas really develop as the beer warms up. Pours a clear, orange/gold with a thick, bright white head. Flavor is creamy/sweet, spicy and citrusy. The yeast, wheat and hops come together quite well. Slightly spicy with plenty of zesty citrus and creamy wheat. Medium bodied. zesty and lively carbonation with a lasting bitter and creamy finish. Thanks Jonathan!

Bottle from Jason’s in Ellicott City, MD. Finally got to try the Brooklyn version, and it was awesome. Definitely preferred it to the Schneider & Brooklyner. Awesome hazy golden-appearance with a large white head that clings to the glass and excellent lacing. Aroma is wheat, yeast, banana, citrus, and some floral hops. Flavor is wheat, banana, clove, honey, spice, orange peel, and great floral and citrusy hops. Fairly dry finish with medium body and soft, smooth carbonation.

Poured from a 750 ml bottle. Sunny, hazed bright yellow appearance. Grayish. Pear, apricot and pine hoppy aroma. Pungent garlic sweetness. Clove, vanilla, and banana wheat characters. Fresh and prickly bitterness with no weight of alcohol. Flavor is similarly hoppy, bright and fruity, smoothened by a pleasant creamy sweetness of banana and distant soy milk; pine-like bitterness is punchy but alternately very soft and kind. Some alcohol touch with vanilla traces sweetening. Medium body is smooth, silky, and bittersweet with light effervescence; finishes with some hoppy length and a papery dryness. Fresh and calming.

Hazy yellow/orange color with a huge and dense white head. Strong presence of tangerines in the aroma. Very fruity, almost too much. Lots of banana, tangerine, and clove. The tangerine being the #1 thing I pick up. Lively mouthfeel. Good beer.
