Poured a hazy yellow with a tall creamy white head that mostly lasted and had good lacing. Nice hoppy/floral aroma with a clove and orange backing. The flavor had clove, pepper, and banana with a hop and light alcohol background. Medium body, smooth. Very nice! moejuck (1172), Ohio, USA
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Jan 4, 2008 I thought this was just a complete clusterfuck of tastes. Banana and esters in the aroma. Golden brown body with a medium head. Light to medium palate. The taste is mildly yeasty, overly sweet for this style, and terribly buttery. I hated it. porterhouse (1163), Alna, Maine, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 20, 2008 (750 ml bottle from Tully’s) A little richer and tastier than the Schneider version...Cork comes out with a strong pop. Pours cloudy gold-amber with a huge frothy, foamy, lumpy off-white head. Foam oozes out of the bottle for several minutes. Later pours are even cloudier, a bit darker and have a bit of a grayish tint. Aroma of sourish citrus, chocolate, banana, yeast, bread, even a bit of light caramel. Mouthfeel soft and wheaty smooth and with a nice bit of heft, perhaps a bit more than the Schneider. Tastes fairly rich and boozy - light sour citrus, wheat malt, chocolate, light banana, perhaps a touch of brown sugar. A bitter bite builds towards finish - a bit more prominent than the Schneider. Some caramel in warmer samples and deeper into bottle. A very good weizen bock but perhaps just a bit less refined than some of the truly great ones. IMtheOptimator (1161), Bethel, Connecticut, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 17, 2008 750 ml bottle shared with my friend Jeff. Reads 8.5% ABV, so not sure why there’s inconsistency here, unless there have been different batches. Poured a volcanically effervescent golden with a fizzy frothy white head that lasted quite a while. Aroma of sharp grass and pine hops, overshadowing the yeast esters so much that I found the ensuing taste rather surprising. Flavors are of course the bitter and grassy hoppiness, but the banana and clove yeast esters make their way into the palate towards the finish. The marriage of the two flavors is quite refreshing, and endears a hophead like myself even more to this style. An excellent effort, and one that I hope will be more than a one-time bottling. mephisto (1144), Taiwan
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jun 1, 2008 a solid offering from brooklyn brewery; it is a wheat with aggressive hopping. the sweet floral aroma may mislead one to believe it’s an ipa, but the hint of wheat adds some intrigue into what might follow. the strong malt profile and the sweet fruity flavor blended well with the bitterness that lingers in the aftertaste. the lively carbonation, the mixture of banana and citrus, and the statement hopping; this weisse is an
uniquely delightful treat. DrBayern (1137), Morehead City, North Carolina, USA

Hazy deep gold body under a creamy, billowing white head that lasts and lasts, leaving thick, sticky lace - phenomenal looking. Wonderful aroma that has the characteristics of a German wheat with the banana and clove esters underneath and the citrus qualities of the Amarillo hops on top, a unique aroma that works well.
Medium body and carbonation, not overly effervescent as I expected after I saw the pour. Very smooth, almost creamy, yet clean and lightly dry. on the palate.
A solid, light malty base supports a balanced, soft grapefruit bitterness that extends into a long dry finish. This is just excellent in all respects. Gregis (1135), Shawnee, Kansas, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 12, 2008 Bottle shared by theisti; a cool bottle; it is shaped like a jumbo version of a New Belgium 12 ouncer. Pours a deep, hazy, pineapple juice goldwith a fluffy white head. The nose is of bright, fresh Amarillo hops with a touch of candy sugar and faint wheat. Light-bodied and wheaty with a moderately bitter finish. A sweet wheaty body backed by a solid, green, Amarillo hop-fix finish. I prefer the Schneider version of this brew a bit more, but this is a solid, tasty beer. If you like hoppy wheats, you should find yourself a bottle. Thanks again for sharing this with me, Tim. jeremytoni (1123), Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA
