Commercial Description:
This Beer is served on DRAFT and in 750ml BROOKLYN bottles.
In May 2007, Garrett Oliver traveled to the 400 yr-old Schneider brewery in Kelheim, Germany, to brew Schneider-Brooklyner Hopfen-Weisse. This was dry-hopped with the local Hallertauer Saphir hop variety. In July, Drexler brought his yeast to Brooklyn and brewed Brooklyner-Schneider Hopfen-Weisse, choosing the American Amarillo and Palisade varieties for the dry-hopping. Now you can taste the result, the latest beer in our Brewmaster’s Reserve series. The beer has a full orange color and the aromatics pair the banana and clove notes from the Schneider yeast with the mango and citrus qualities of the hops. The bitterness is robust but balanced, and the beer has a clean, hoppy finish.
Brooklyner-Schneider Hopfen-Weisse pairs well with Caribbean seafood preparations, crab cakes, jerk chicken, Thai cuisine, Szechuan cooking and many Mexican dishes.”

Pours murky golden/brown, with a big foamy white head. Like the previous version it has a huge aroma of fresh grassy/herbal hops, with floral notes, huge fruity esters, and lots of spice. Lots of spicy notes, and huge grassy/herbal hops right upfront. Basically it’s almost identical to the previous, but just slightly more awesome.

Cold 750ml bottle, corked: Pours a lightly cloudy, medium gold color with a moderate sized alabaster head that mostly dissolves. Aroma is of banana and bubblegum, with light grains. Taste is of light grains, fruit, spice and mild bitterness. Crisp and medium bodied with good carbonation. Ending is of light grains and mild bitterness with citrus notes.

Pours a dense yellow gold. Creamy dollop of white head. Honeyed lemon aroma with plenty of hop kick. Meaty flavor full of wheat, yeastiness, lemon, and hops. Oh boy, the hops. Herbal and prickly. Warming alcohol. A big beer.

Got a bottle of this courtesy of my brother. Poured a cloudy orange color with extremely fluffy white head that hangs around forever. Aroma is dominated by the hops and is very inviting. Flavor is initially spicey with hints of banana (my brother picked up on the bubblegum but I didnt) and finishes with a perfect hop balance. Mouthfeel is great. This is extremely drinkable and I would recommend trying if you get a chance.

Bomber. Hazy orange color, huge white head. Beautiful aroma of sour hops, citrus, and yeast. The flavor’s not so well balanced, though very complex. Banana, cloves, citrus hops, grapes. It finishes with some red wine and a bit of burn. Interesting beer, but in my opinion, not worth the price.
