Commercial Description:
This Beer is served on DRAFT and in 750ml BROOKLYN bottles.
In May 2007, Garrett Oliver traveled to the 400 yr-old Schneider brewery in Kelheim, Germany, to brew Schneider-Brooklyner Hopfen-Weisse. This was dry-hopped with the local Hallertauer Saphir hop variety. In July, Drexler brought his yeast to Brooklyn and brewed Brooklyner-Schneider Hopfen-Weisse, choosing the American Amarillo and Palisade varieties for the dry-hopping. Now you can taste the result, the latest beer in our Brewmaster’s Reserve series. The beer has a full orange color and the aromatics pair the banana and clove notes from the Schneider yeast with the mango and citrus qualities of the hops. The bitterness is robust but balanced, and the beer has a clean, hoppy finish.
Brooklyner-Schneider Hopfen-Weisse pairs well with Caribbean seafood preparations, crab cakes, jerk chicken, Thai cuisine, Szechuan cooking and many Mexican dishes.”

Bottle (750ml corked & caged). Shared with blankboy and biegaman. Could smell it as soon as the corked popped. Cloudy, bubbly gold with a large lasting creamy/foamy white head. Aroma of strong pungent grassy hops and overripe fruit (banana and apple) - smells ’’thick.’’ Taste - more fruity malt, less hop bitterness, moderate alcohol well hidden - yummy. Solid, lively mouthfeel, slightly astringent, medium-long fruity finish. Terrific summer brew - enjoyed on a lovely, warm October 31st on my balcony.

2008-10-02. Very lightly hazy yellow body with a huge foamy white head. Yeast is prominent in a modest aroma, light something coats the malt. (8+) Flavour has a light wheaty yeasty bite, modest alcohol. Mild pale malt, dry lightly tart wheat notes. (7+) Average plus palate is fairly effervescent. (3+) Rather good, quite drinkable. Bottle. [Tasting @ Papsoe 20-10-2008] Huge creamy white head that mostly lasting. Good display of lacework. Hazy golden orange color. Aroma of grapefruit, apricot, peach, wheat, spice, caramel, pineapple. Over the palate came yeast, mild banana, fruit. Quite full bodied with an average carbonation. Moderated sweet and bitter flavor in balance. Lingering fresh hoppy finish with a sweet touch.

750ml. Pours a cloudy golden body with a big white head. Aroma/flavor is citrus; light pear and banana, some good spiciness clove, cinnamon. Very easy drinking and the 7.8abv blends in so well. Nice pick up.

Bottle. Poured a hazy copper-orange with a substantial head that quickly dwindled. This has quite the solid Belgianesque, spicy aroma. It drinks with a musty, earthy moldiness that is somehow still pretty delicious ... a strange marriage of German wheatiness and Belgian yeastiness ... quite the blend. (#3496, 2/15/2009)

75cl bottle. Thanks to Madsnp. Pours hazy yellow with a large white foam and lacings. Lovely nose of orange peel, wheat, yeast and lots of hops. Yum and very inviting. Lively carbonation. Smooth and dry. Crisp, refreshing and overall just very tasty.

Poured a hazy orange golden color with a medium sized, white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of bananas, toffee, vanilla, floral hops, pine, citrus, and light alcohol as well. Taste of more banana and clove, with resiny pine, citrus fruits, bitter hops and moderate alcohol in the finish. Couldn’t tell much difference from the Schneider, except it was pinier with just a tad thinner mouthfeel.
