Commercial Description:
This Beer is served on DRAFT and in 750ml BROOKLYN bottles.
In May 2007, Garrett Oliver traveled to the 400 yr-old Schneider brewery in Kelheim, Germany, to brew Schneider-Brooklyner Hopfen-Weisse. This was dry-hopped with the local Hallertauer Saphir hop variety. In July, Drexler brought his yeast to Brooklyn and brewed Brooklyner-Schneider Hopfen-Weisse, choosing the American Amarillo and Palisade varieties for the dry-hopping. Now you can taste the result, the latest beer in our Brewmaster’s Reserve series. The beer has a full orange color and the aromatics pair the banana and clove notes from the Schneider yeast with the mango and citrus qualities of the hops. The bitterness is robust but balanced, and the beer has a clean, hoppy finish.
Brooklyner-Schneider Hopfen-Weisse pairs well with Caribbean seafood preparations, crab cakes, jerk chicken, Thai cuisine, Szechuan cooking and many Mexican dishes.”

750 ml corked and caged bottle poured a lightly hazy golden amber with a lasting creamy ivory head with good lacing. Aromas of wheat, floral notes, earthiness, pine and light melon. Palate was medium bodied and crisp with a lightly warming finish. Flavors of wheat, earthiness, fruittinesslight bubblegum and a hint of pine with a crisp warming lingering moderatly bitter finish.

Bottle (750ml) shared with GregClow, jerc & mabel -- courtesy of GregClow. Pours a hazy orange-copper with a large foamy white head. Nice lacing. Fantastic aroma is yeasty, sweet and hoppy along with wheat and light spices -- Yowza that’s nice! Flavour’s also yeasty along with plenty of floral hops, some fruit, wheat and spices. Nice spicy bitter finish. Medium bodied. Man oh man this is good stuff!

Draft @ HDG. Pours foamy with a big, white head. Aroma first is fresh Cascades with a bready back. Right before the liquid hits your mouth, the you get slapped with a mouthful of fresh hops. A really good thing. The body is medium with mellow banana and cinnamon. Finishes even more hoppy with a bit of an abv buzz. Better than the bottle by far (IMHO).

Bottle. Medium sized white fizzy head with good retention, cloudy straw body, and a ring of lacing. The aroma is sweet, clove, banana, spicy, citrus hops. The flavor is sweet, clove, spicy, banana, mango, citrus hops, and mildly bitter. The mouthfeel is tingly and this is a medium bodied beer. Overall, a very balanced aroma/flavor, worthy of a try, and a beer I would drink again. More please!

Bottle - 750mL corked and caged. Pricey bottle as well - a hefty $15! Golden auburn pour. Tall, dense, sticky white head. Nose is hoppy with fresh hop notes, pine, wheat, banana, bubblegum, and citrus. Lots of yeast as well. Taste is hoppy but wheaty and yeasty with softer banana, stronger lemon and citrus notes, spices, lighter candy, hint of bubblegum, and some sweet malt notes. Body is light-medium to medium with moderate carbonation. Some dryness and a lingering bitterness to this one. The finish draws out the citrus and hops much more than a standard weizen bock. Lots of yeast, wheat, pine, citrus, candy, sweet malts, hint of toffee, spices and lemon peel. Very tasty!

Draft at Tyler’s in Durham, NC. Poured an attractive cloudy yellow color. Head was thick and white with good retention. A uniform sheet of lace coated the glass all the way to the bottom of the glass. Aroma was of banana, clove, and citrus zest. Tasted of orange marmalade, banana, clove, and flower blossoms. Wow, this was even better than the bottled version brewed in Germany. Great beer.

Growler via trade with Degarth. Many thanks Joe, happy to try the Schneider bottled and now this draft only or growler too. Lost some carbonation in transit. Pours cloudy yellow orange with some bubbles for a head. Nose is intense beautifal banana hops, and some pineapple. Taste is hoppy and also wheaty and full of fruit salad fruit, banana and pineapple and all kinds of other things. Tasty and complex but feels a little messy like some flavors are battling with others. Overall tasty and different. Somehow neglected to mention the big spicy notes, clove is there and lots of other stuff. Mellows as you drink it, but still...

Gold pour. Fluffy white head. Wheat, caramel, fruit, spices, bready notes in the aroma. Flavor is yeasty and has good wheat notes, but it also has a touch of tartness which is damn nice. Very unique.
