Commercial Description:
This Beer is served on DRAFT and in 750ml BROOKLYN bottles.
In May 2007, Garrett Oliver traveled to the 400 yr-old Schneider brewery in Kelheim, Germany, to brew Schneider-Brooklyner Hopfen-Weisse. This was dry-hopped with the local Hallertauer Saphir hop variety. In July, Drexler brought his yeast to Brooklyn and brewed Brooklyner-Schneider Hopfen-Weisse, choosing the American Amarillo and Palisade varieties for the dry-hopping. Now you can taste the result, the latest beer in our Brewmaster’s Reserve series. The beer has a full orange color and the aromatics pair the banana and clove notes from the Schneider yeast with the mango and citrus qualities of the hops. The bitterness is robust but balanced, and the beer has a clean, hoppy finish.
Brooklyner-Schneider Hopfen-Weisse pairs well with Caribbean seafood preparations, crab cakes, jerk chicken, Thai cuisine, Szechuan cooking and many Mexican dishes.”

Bottle. Pours a hazy amber with a one finger white head that leaves good lacing. Aroma of bananas, wheat, Amarillo hops (YUM), floral hops, yeast, and a hint of clove. Taste is the same as aroma with the clove being a bit more dominant. Medium mouthfeel with a mild to moderate amount of bitterness and well hidden alcohol. This beer is so well balanced and just down right tasty. The Amarillo and Palisade hops were a perfect compliment to the yeast phenols and wheat. A very tasty brew.

750 ml. Hazy, effervescent amber with a huge creamy head that finally settles down to an inch. Nose is a nice blend of pineapple-banana bubblegum, light wheat, orange-grapefruit and pine resin. Flavor is less sweet than the aroma indicates. Starts with peppery orange-pineapple-grapefruit mixed with honey, then turns to a blend of earthy-spiced peaches and cream of wheat. Finishes with prickly, acidic citrus peel and resin. Wheat, clove and light oak also show up in the long aftertaste. Medium body is creamy smooth and finishes resiny-dry. A nice frosting is left all over the flask.

Bottle. Hazy golden colour, big white head. Smells sour apple, citrus hops and peppery spices. The taste is yeasty and wheaty at first (with a small sourness), american hops adds some bitterness and vanilla rounds it off. Not super complex, although super good!

Bottle as shown. Pours a cloudy golden with a large creamy white head that lasts awhile leaving behind good sticky lacing along the glass. The aroma is a banana yeast with citrus and honey. Thin mouthfeel with a sweet malt taste with yeast, banana and a nice crisp finish. Hides the alcohol making it easy to drink, very refreshing, a very impressive Weizen-Bock from Brooklyn.

Poured from a 750ml caged and corked bottle and served in a weizen glass. This beer poured a cloudy orange hue with a fluffy head of off-white foam that would not go away. Nice lacing. The aroma of the beer was made up of oranges, pine cones, cloves, and wheat. Excellent spicy, citrusy, piney hop aroma! The flavor included orange peel, tangerines, bananas, cloves, fresh pine, and some lightly warming alcohol. The mouthfeel was medium-bodied with soft carbonation. Dry-hopping with the Amarillo’s really took the aroma to another level when compared to the German version. Great beer!

750m bottle. 2008 edition which reads 8.5%. Pour is an intensely murky honey/orange. Nose is a citrus, alcohol, pine, and vanilla mix. Medium to heavy mouth, dough, bubble gum, banana, and astringent hops. Overall excellent brew with a cool story behind its creation.

Schneider 500ml bottle shared with PaulHegedus. Pours a cloudy amber, looking like fruit nectar, with a foamy white head. Aromas of pineapple, banana, nectarine and peaches in syrup. Flavours of pit fruit (nectarine, apricot, peach, yellow plum) with a pomelo citrus sourness. Body is full, rich stickiness without being chewy. Finish is a long drawn complex affair with a sweet n sour plum sauce aftertaste
