Pours a semi-hazed golden/deep amber with a craggy white head, laces the glass nicely. Yum, I’m pretty sure the huge aromatic hops here are amarillo (smells much like the Chouffe tripel/IPA), but just huge upfront floral and slight citrus hops on top of a solid banana bread, fruity, sweet malty base, cloves and other spices dance behind the immense hop whiff. Hoppy, well rounded, spicy wheat, citrus, nice bitter end kick. Full-bodied and good carbonation, not too sweet. A great and interesting strong wheat beer. So balanced. I def need to try the Schneider version. jobyone (234), Charlotte, USA

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Feb 19, 2009 Sampled at a beer and food pairing with Garritt Oliver. Poured golden with off white head. Aroma was banana, clove, yeast, and peppery hops. Had a medium mouthfeel with a lot of carbonation. Flavor followed the nose. This was paired with a jerk chicken. I never thought I would drink a hot spicy beer before. The spice in the chicken brought out peppery hot spices from the hops. Simply amazing. FlssmrBrewAlum (1174), Lisle, Illinois, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 18, 2009 750 ml bottle acquired via trade with Beerlando. Thanks! Pours a hazy goldish orangish, light hued, with big offwhite bubbly head, medium hazed, with a head that dies down somewhat. Aromas are dominated by lemony citrus, belgian spicy yeast, estery fruitiness (Banana) mixed with wheaty malts and some notes of a floral hoppiness. Initial is light on the tounge, but definitely not a light beer. Flavors are wheaty malts and grains, balancing fruity esters (Banana, again, largely), belgian yeasty spice, amarillo hops with some grassy feels, and a nice creamy sweetness. Bitterness and sweetness actually work extremely well together. A very well done brew. Look forward to trying the other version, as I hear it is on / will be on at Binnys South Loop. Cheers! smith4498 (918), Miami, Florida, USA

Mouthful was very smooth, and nicely carbonated. I found this beer to a nice depth to it as it has different levels of flavor. Going down I sense some sweetness, and then the finish has some nice bitterness to it. Very enjoyable, and very nice beer.
