Commercial Description:
This Beer is served on DRAFT and in 750ml BROOKLYN bottles.
In May 2007, Garrett Oliver traveled to the 400 yr-old Schneider brewery in Kelheim, Germany, to brew Schneider-Brooklyner Hopfen-Weisse. This was dry-hopped with the local Hallertauer Saphir hop variety. In July, Drexler brought his yeast to Brooklyn and brewed Brooklyner-Schneider Hopfen-Weisse, choosing the American Amarillo and Palisade varieties for the dry-hopping. Now you can taste the result, the latest beer in our Brewmaster’s Reserve series. The beer has a full orange color and the aromatics pair the banana and clove notes from the Schneider yeast with the mango and citrus qualities of the hops. The bitterness is robust but balanced, and the beer has a clean, hoppy finish.
Brooklyner-Schneider Hopfen-Weisse pairs well with Caribbean seafood preparations, crab cakes, jerk chicken, Thai cuisine, Szechuan cooking and many Mexican dishes.”

courtesy of Laurent Mousson - cloudy dark orange colour with a little persistent beige foam; slightly dusty with notes of solvant, honey and banana; slightly oily and with a good malt body; effervescent and quite creamy mouthfeel; long fruity and hoppy finish with some residual sweetness

750ml bottle: poujred amber with a thick off white head. Moderate weizen notes of banana, clove, and bubblegum. Flavor is light banana and bubblegum with a big hit of bitter hops. Lightly citrusy with strong carbonation. Moderately dry with a big bitter finish. Good beer.

Draught: Medium sweet aroma. Smells floral with notes of hops, spices, coriander, and citrus. Poured a trubid dark straw/golden color with a large white head that diminished in size but lasted throughout. Cloudy. Sparkling. Flavor of hops, pine, cloves, spice, and banana. Medium to full body. Average texture. Average to lively carbonation. Sweet hop and clove finish. Overall, a really nice flavor and body create quite a good beer.

Bottle - 750mL corked and caged. Pricey bottle as well - a hefty $15! Golden auburn pour. Tall, dense, sticky white head. Nose is hoppy with fresh hop notes, pine, wheat, banana, bubblegum, and citrus. Lots of yeast as well. Taste is hoppy but wheaty and yeasty with softer banana, stronger lemon and citrus notes, spices, lighter candy, hint of bubblegum, and some sweet malt notes. Body is light-medium to medium with moderate carbonation. Some dryness and a lingering bitterness to this one. The finish draws out the citrus and hops much more than a standard weizen bock. Lots of yeast, wheat, pine, citrus, candy, sweet malts, hint of toffee, spices and lemon peel. Very tasty!

Strong herbal and pine aroma. Lots of citrus and floral notes going on as well. Looks great, while the white, frothy head lasts, anyway. Golden, slightly hazy body color. The flavor is quite hoppy, and very citrusy. Very refreshing beer. Somewhat astringent.

750 mL bottle that says 8.5% ABV. Very large fluffy white head of rather large bubbles. Reduces to a sticky messy head with gobs of sticky lacing. Light citris and wheat notes. Some peaches and spicy yeast. Color is a hazy brownish orange. Zippy and lively in the mouth. Good bitterness up front that melds into some sweet malty notes in the middle. Light roastyness with plenty of spicy, yeasty notes. Pepper and corriander with a bit of orange. More bitterness late swallow from the very resinous hops. Finishes bitter yet slightly creamy and dry with some lingering yeast and wheat notes. A very good brew and one that I am enjoying quite a bit.

Fruity citrus aroma. Hazy golden/orange with thick head. Banana, yeast spiciness, and drying hops. Mid range body. Enjoyable beer.

Draft @ HDG. Pours foamy with a big, white head. Aroma first is fresh Cascades with a bready back. Right before the liquid hits your mouth, the you get slapped with a mouthful of fresh hops. A really good thing. The body is medium with mellow banana and cinnamon. Finishes even more hoppy with a bit of an abv buzz. Better than the bottle by far (IMHO).
