The flavor contains rye and is slightly fruity with hints of sourness, mint?, and green hops. Very interesting... Flavors include wheat, yeast, spice, and some warming alcohiol. It is a bit bitter, but balanced and somewhat dry like rye would imparct. It has some acidity as well. It is medium-bodied and feels soft in the mough. This beer is unique and a bit difficult to describe. Overall I like this particular beer better than the Schneider & Brooklyner Hopfen-Weisse version.

Many thanks Joe, happy to try the Schneider bottled and now this draft only or growler too. Lost some carbonation in transit. Pours cloudy yellow orange with some bubbles for a head. Nose is intense beautifal banana hops, and some pineapple. Taste is hoppy and also wheaty and full of fruit salad fruit, banana and pineapple and all kinds of other things. Tasty and complex but feels a little messy like some flavors are battling with others. Overall tasty and different. Somehow neglected to mention the big spicy notes, clove is there and lots of other stuff. Mellows as you drink it, but still... mhelgason (495), Charlotte, North Carolina, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 31, 2008 The color is a cloudy orange with a thick foamy and sudsy head. The nose is nice and sweet with bready malt and bitter sweet hops with some hints of lemon grass. Initially the flavor is nice and tart with lemon and clove with the hops finishing it off. I like how you only get the hop bitterness when you have the beer in your mouth, but after it fades away and all you can taste is clove on your palate. It is a nice and refreshing beer made with quality ingredients. Alldaydrinker (558), Norwood, Massachusetts, USA

Pours a hazy golden color with a small white foamy head. Nose is refreshing, cloves being very dominate with mild tart ness, citrus and bready malts. Initial taste displays heavily from the aroma cloves splashing across the mouth, floral hops, touch of wheat, and citrus. Mid palate displays good parts of the floral hops. Good palate duration. Good head retention. Light to medium body. OSLO (829), Minnesota, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 16, 2008 [Bottle, big thanks go to Stine for sharing!] Pours hazy golden with a good cream head. Aroma is nice, with a the expected citrus hops and banana. There was also subdued clove, and wheat. Taste is semi-sweet with yeast and banana most dominant. The clove and wheat are still there, but pretty subdued. Good mouthfeel and smooth. A very good weizen bock, but I actually preferred the Schneider & Brooklyner version, strangely enough. Still, I am definitely in need of a re-rate, as this was a tasting sample.
