Bite me. Pours a hazy dull brass-bronze with a massive gout of head that refuses to disappear for several minutes living a bit of chunky lacing as it finally dies....thick caramelized bananas in the nose, light spices, vanilla syrup and a bit of bourbon, very sweet.....full and luscious mouthfeel, lightly alcoholic, quite malty and rich with caramelization dominant, a bit of woody bitterness towards the finish, little in the way of wheaty tartness though it’s there if you look for it, particularly at the end when it’s warmed a bit....not a patch on Plank or Alesmith, but eminently drinkable, if a bit pretentious and pricey in its packaging. pilsnerrogge (1793), Finspång, Sweden

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jun 26, 2008 Bottle. Big fluffy white head and loads of carbonation, befitting the style. The spicy hops nearly overwhelm the banana esters in the nose, but not quite. Light orange body. Rather dry body, mild bitterness, some hop aromatics come out in the finish. kp (8500), Woodstock, Georgia, USA

opaque yellow? lasting dense white head, lots of drippy lace,
spicy sweet banana aroma,
creamy body,
lots of sweet banana flavor, well balanced by a pepperyspicy clove character with a light bitterness,
the great spicy character makes this beer

Aroma is a fairly strong piney hop content, light yeast, light banana and alcohol but hops are dominant. Taste is a light fruitness, with alcohol, and nice hoppiness. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 11, 2007 Poured a hazy orange golden color with a medium sized, white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of bananas, toffee, vanilla, floral hops, pine, citrus, and light alcohol as well. Taste of more banana and clove, with resiny pine, citrus fruits, bitter hops and moderate alcohol in the finish. Couldn’t tell much difference from the Schneider, except it was pinier with just a tad thinner mouthfeel. BBB63 (4271), La Porte, Indiana, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 16, 2008 Corked bottle and served in my Schneider Weizenbock glass: The hazy golden beer is topped by a lasting foamy head which left excellent lace upon the glass. Boy do the hops jump out at the nose in the beginning followed by muted hefe characteristics of banana, clove, pepper, lemongrass, wheat husk and bready malts.
The taste is exactly what you expected with a hop bitterness supported by fruity and spicy weizen flavors. Sharp spicy finish and some metallic notes upon the finish. The mouth feel is highly carbonated, sharp with a dry and abit alcoholic finish. Different for sure, these hybrid are sure fun to drink.
