Commercial Description:
This exciting lager is brewed to the exacting standards required by Soil Association Certification Ltd. of the United Kingdom. The lager malt is prepared from Organically grown Scottish barley. The hops are grown in New Zealand where the absence of pests means hops of a very high quality can be grown organically. The pure water comes from the rolling Scottish Border hills. To complete the process a specially selected lager yeast is used and fermentation is carried out at the low temperature of 11°C for a full 14 days. The end result is a premium beer with all the delicate flavours and aromas associated with a Pilsner type lager A refreshing clean tasting beer with an excellent aroma and aftertaste.

Bottled@Poirotti’s Skotoberfest 2007. Yellowish golden colour with small white creamy head. Aroma is skunked malts along with some grassy hops. Flavour is mainly the same. OK brew, but not very exciting.

500ml bottle from May’s Organic shop in Lewes. Gold colour with thin white head. Fairly awful to start with but the hop on the finish does come through. Bit toasty on aroma, bit thin and tinny in mouth. As a blonde ale, it might work, but as a lager, apart from that decent hop finish, there isn’t too much.

This straw colored lager has a nice color and head and the aroma has notes of malt and hops. It is quite uncomplicated, easy to drink and the flavour is quite Ok with notes of flower, malt and hops, that leaves a nice, light bitterness, that lasts through the rater long finish.

Golden colour with a white head. Malty, grainy aroma with a weak fruity sweetness. Sweet malty flavor with a light hoppy bitterness.

Golden appearance with a crisp edge to it. After this its all downhill. For an organic beer it tasted quite stale even though well within its use by date. Some traces of flora but really quite a boring beer. I felt quite let down after trying this one.
