Commercial Description:
Bottle; Pasteurised.
Medium-bodied, with a subtle hop aroma, on the palate this luxurious beer has a deep, full flavour which balances a toasty maltiness, mild bitterness, and a hint of sweet herbs. It finishes clean and mostly dry, but with a faintly subtle sweetness.

My memory fails me a bit here. this was a pretty non descript beer and I remember nutty balanced towards malt but you could taste the hops. I bought this of all places at the Kensington Wine Market here in Calgary. Page 84 of Michael Jackson’s Great Beer Guide only 450 Classic Brews to go.

500 ml bottle. Copper/amber colour with a mostly diminishing frothy off-white head. Toffee and bready malt aroma. Toffee and rye bread flavours with a spicy and dark fruit lingering bitter finish. Medium bodied, smooth.

Brown body with a creamy beige head, decent lacing (3+). Musty malty aroma, sweet muted caramel notes. Sweet earthy caramel malt in the flavour. Average palate. Quaffable but does not leave a lasting impression.

Deep dark red with unmoving head. Stark caramel-alcohol nose. Flavor is twangy citrus, some granny smith apples, white grapes, and dark malt. Not at all bad.

(Stockholm Beer Festival 2006) Nice amber color, offwhite head. Nutty, malty aroma with some vinous notes. Malty, nutty flavor, some hops and a bit vinous. Hoppy sourish flavor. Well balanced.

Pours a dark red and a coffee looking head. Aroma of caramel and roasted malts. It reminds me of a weaker version of Sam Adams Chocolate Boch. I enjoyed this brew alot. The label is interesting as well. Thanks Stegosaurus
