| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jul 27, 2009 1/30/2008: Broughton Black Douglas has a clear pecan brown appearance and a sharp aroma. The beer is creamy its flavors include cranberry and a strong maltiness. There seems to be plenty of hop flavor, but the beer really isn’t bitter. It just kind os falls off at theend. It has a medium-light body. I think that this beer could be better, but there is just something wierd about it...
1 pint .9 fl. oz. bottle. Rating #227 for this beer.

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 23, 2009 Pours a clear ruby-brown with a lovely tan head and nice lacing. Aroma is very estery - fruity and yeasty and inviting. Taste is surprisingly bitter. Not bad! I was expecting something cloyingly sweet, as this bills itself as a traditional scottish ale on the bottle. Lightly toasted malt, lightly fruity, finishing on a nice bitter lightly roasted note. Thick and creamy with light carbonation. Not ungood! AmEricanbrew (1946), orange, California, USA

Smooth medium body. Lightly sweet cracker malt flavors with a nicely bitter hop bite to finish. LordCorkscrew (984), Ronco Scrivia (GE), Italy
