Commercial Description:
Bottle; Pasteurised.
Medium-bodied, with a subtle hop aroma, on the palate this luxurious beer has a deep, full flavour which balances a toasty maltiness, mild bitterness, and a hint of sweet herbs. It finishes clean and mostly dry, but with a faintly subtle sweetness.

Dark red with a large foamy white head. Aromas are sweet and malty with molasses and ovaltine. Flavours are equally malty with some roast malts, licourice and earthiness. Some gooseberry in there, too. Has a good dry finish. Not bad.

A bland, unexciting, and overwhelmingly unimpressive scottish ale. Reddish brown. Nose lightly scotched, a bit of peat, some malts. Flavor pretty thin, peat and smoke stop by for a brief visit, but nothing much going on. Not actively bad, just actively uninteresting.

duvel tulip glass: this man knows Robert the Bruce? blasphemy! this brew is unrelated! the blood that would mix with Bruce’s could create a new epidemic. anyway, ... It’s okay. thin all around: if thrown at me, i could drink it again. typical; mediocre.

(on bottle)This allmost had it, but then a too heavy hopping for my taste sat in and it came out averege. Really nice color, small head, but as I said falls between two chairs, with some scott to it and some...other stuff to it.

A dark ruby ale, with a subtle hop aroma. The beer finishes clean and for the most part dry, with suble sweetness

much darker appearance than it’s taste would suggest. a mild to almost overt chocolate overtone, with little head. not bad.

Dark ruby in color with a somewhat bubbly, yet, creamy eggshell white head. Roasted malt dominates the aroma with hints of chocolate. Taste is surprisingly balanced. Flavors of smoke, malt, fruit and a restrained sweetness that I like. Perhaps a tad thin, but that is really just nitipicking. Finsih was slightly bitter and pleasant. Overall a very good brew. Surprised it’s not rated higher.
