Commercial Description:
Bottle; Pasteurised.
Medium-bodied, with a subtle hop aroma, on the palate this luxurious beer has a deep, full flavour which balances a toasty maltiness, mild bitterness, and a hint of sweet herbs. It finishes clean and mostly dry, but with a faintly subtle sweetness.

Amber dark with a thin brown head. THe nose is sweet with full malts and some suggar. The taste is rusty with malts and sweetness. The body is average and overall is quite drinkable.

Deep dark red with unmoving head. Stark caramel-alcohol nose. Thin and somewhat watery, there's a strong alcohol character here with sweet toasty backdrop. Just OK.

Bottled. Dark rustic brown colour with a large, uneven, beige head. Generous vanilla and malt aromas give way to more metallic and less pleasing ones. Some stale (or perhaps aged) hop notes as well. Malt flavours are quickly overtaken by strong bitter, tannic, rusty flavours which appear to be hoppy in origin. Compared with the first smells that I caught leaving the bottle, the finish isn’t nearly as good.

Cloudy, dark russet color. Definitely a scottish -- tons of peat moss and earthy flavor. Delicious roasted malt flavor contrasted well with the light hoppy tones. Hint of tangy bitters in finish. Great if you are in the mood for a lighter yet malty beer.

Roasted, malty aroma; slightly hazy chestnut color; nutty and slightly smokey peat flavor with some very subtle sweetness of crystal malt (too) well balanced with bitterness/dryness; sourish/grapefruit flavor; medium/high body: overall a little too fruity and bitter for a Scottish; OK, though.

Brownish-red appearance, malty, fruity (mostly apples and grapes). Very nice.

Pours caramel brown with a fluffy tan head. Malty aroma. Taste is lightly malted with a little sourness. Not at all bad.

Aroma is grapes, caramel, and apples. Appearance is a reddish brown with a nice head. Flavor is twangy citrus, some granny smith apples, white grapes, and dark malt. Much better than alot of these guys beers! Go Douglas, go Douglas, go! Nice one.
