Commercial Description:
Bottle; Pasteurised.
NOTE: The Cask version has a separate listing.
Medium-bodied, with a subtle hop aroma, on the palate this luxurious beer has a deep, full flavour which balances a toasty maltiness, mild bitterness, and a hint of sweet herbs. It finishes clean and mostly dry, but with a faintly subtle sweetness.

Dark amber with a thick white head. Roasted caramel malt aroma. Flavor is sweet caramel malts with a touch of buttery toffee. Mildly bitter finish. Soft on the palate. Not bad.

500ml bottle from Threshers. Pours reddish copper with a soft thick cream head; welcoming, slightly spicy caramel malt aroma; smooth with a toasted malt flavour that keeps the sweetness under control; deeply dry finish with a trace of hops. An easy drinking Scottish style of ESB.

Had this from the bottle thanks to my pops. It poured a dark amber with fluffy head. The aroma was subtle, but nice. Flavor was also subtle, but had some caramel notes, and slight bitterness on the finish. Overall average beer. Cheers!

One of those pleasant easy drinking Scottish ales, soft sweet caramel aroma, that little bit of hop coming through has an almost smoke like quality, flavor is mildly toffee/caramel sweet, hint of diacetyl in palate, hop finish has a tobacco character. Prototype session brew

Malty sweetness with spicy hops on the nose, with herbal earthy notes. Pours a reddish amber with a thin white head. Crisp bite, good malt backbone with spicy hops, hints of roasted malts. Solid ESB.

Sample tasting - Dark ruby colored ale with a rich full bodied malt flavor and overtones of roast fruit. Same aromas. Balanced bitterness with roasted malt.

Body is a clear reddish-brown with a thick finger of smooth light tan head that leaves nice rings of lacing. A nice burnt caramel aroma, sweet malt, fruity. Taste is lots of burnt caramels and toffee. Sweet malts, some cherries and other pit fruits. A small drying grassy hop finish.

A truly tasty scottisch ale, that I found to be quite enjoyable and wish I had not put off buying this one before. A kind of off color tan color with a bit of the same coloring seeping through into the head, that dissipates quite quickly. A bountiful, and flavorful aroma, that is slightly peppery and overly malty, with a bit of hops coming through in the aftertaste. This was very smooth and unlike others of this style that I have had, I did not feel like I was very full afterwards, some of these are extremely chewy with the malts
