The aroma was subtle, but nice. Flavor was also subtle, but had some caramel notes, and slight bitterness on the finish. Overall average beer.

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 18, 2009 A truly tasty scottisch ale, that I found to be quite enjoyable and wish I had not put off buying this one before. A kind of off color tan color with a bit of the same coloring seeping through into the head, that dissipates quite quickly. A bountiful, and flavorful aroma, that is slightly peppery and overly malty, with a bit of hops coming through in the aftertaste. This was very smooth and unlike others of this style that I have had, I did not feel like I was very full afterwards, some of these are extremely chewy with the malts
