Commercial Description:
Bottle; Pasteurised.
Medium-bodied, with a subtle hop aroma, on the palate this luxurious beer has a deep, full flavour which balances a toasty maltiness, mild bitterness, and a hint of sweet herbs. It finishes clean and mostly dry, but with a faintly subtle sweetness.

Deep dark copper color, nice tan head with good retention. Toasted bready sweet caramel malt with some grassy hops and herbal notes. Mild peat/smoke/spice in taste as well. Slighty bitter and dry at finish. Thin to meduium body. Gentle and mild. Well balanced and crafted.

16.9 oz. bottle picked out by The Beer Wench. Pours a light brown with a small tan head. Aroma of sweet caramel malts. Mouthfeel was watery thin with some hints of toasted bread. Bitterness at the finish. Nothing out of the ordinary here.

Bottle. Dark bronze with a huge offwhite head. Sweetish, bready aroma. Good bready flavours, good balance though tilting to the sweet side, spicy. Decent.

Bottled@Poirotti’s Skotoberfest 2007. Very much ruby red colour with a beigeish mediumsized creamy head. Aroma is sweet malts along with some flowery hops and grass. Flavour is grassy hops along with some wood and slight nectary notes for the sweetness. A very mouthdrying beer.

500ml bottle (Poirotti, Helsinki, Skotoberfest 2007) Rich red, lively bready head. Sweet malty aroma, powerful hoppy and sweet malty combination, hops dry the mouth noticeably. Long bitter finish. As it warms, marmite comes out in the aroma.

(Bottle, Stockholm Beer Festival, 29 Sep 2007) Dark reddish brown colour with frothy, beige head. Malty nose with notes of chocolate, coffee and liquorice. Malty taste with chocolate and hints of coffee. Rather short finish. Below medium body. Nice taste though.

Pours a dark brown colour with a fair amount of light brown head. A hoppy, but slightly burnt aroma hits followed by a somewhat dry initial flavour. There’s brown sugar in there and some dried fruit, but with a definite hoppy bitterness and a warming alcoholic kick. Very nice.
