This beer poured a clear dark amber color with decent white head that dissipated to a thin film along the top. Aroma was of roasted malt sweetness, peat, caramel. Flavor was the same and nicely balanced. Mouthfeel was pleasant, pretty full-bodied. I enjoyed this ale, and it would make a nice session beer.

Nov 26, 2009 Bottle. Pours an amber body with an off white head. Bitter hints of licorice and caramel. Toasted malt, nutty with some light bitter earth y tones. Decent Ale.

Nov 25, 2009 smells nice and fruity with some decent malts, the beer is a little bit of astrignet bitter with a touch of roasted cocoa.

Nov 25, 2009 The aroma is sweet with malt, caramel, toast, and fruit. The appearance is medium brown with a small head. The flavor is like the aroma with a bitter finish. The palate is a bit thin. Overall not too impressive but not bad.

Nov 23, 2009 The aroma is almost all malt, but in a good way. Some caramel and a bit of wood. Super smooth drinking. Nice amber red color. Hops are spruce and resiny. Very nice. Quite a bit more bitter than I was expecting. There is a taste of just ripe pear and some oak. The finish is nice and long. Alcohol is nicely warming. A very drinkable beer that I’ll be returning to.

Nov 15, 2009 Bottle. Pours amber with a creamy light tan head. Aromas of brownly roasted caramel and light floral hop. Medium body with sharp, near creamy carbonation. Not all that hoppy. More malty. Finishes with a touch of lightly cooked fruit. Dryish, but not very bitter. A bit of wood seems to come forth.

Mahogany with a light brown head. Aroma moderate malty (caramel, roasted, brown sugar, a note of smoke?), light hoppy. Light body. Delicious.
