Commercial Description:
Bottle; Pasteurised.
This exceptional ale is brewed to the exacting standards required by the Soil Association Certification Ltd. of the United Kingdom. The malt is prepared from Organically grown Scottish barley. The hops are grown in New Zealand where the absence of pests means high quality hops can be grown organically. The pure water comes from the rolling Scottish Border hills. The end result is a light golden coloured beer full of flavour and aroma. A refreshing clean tasting beer with an excellent hop aroma and aftertaste.

Bottle. Citrus fruit aroma, apples and hops. Golden appearance with a thin white head. Clean crisp taste. Sweet with hops and fruits. Great sharp finish. Good crisp ale.

Bottle, english pint. Hazy deep golden, thick white head demonstrating amazing retention and leaving generous lace. Aroma is malt cereal, a touch of honey. The palate is all pale malt, faintly fruity, with a rather harsh finish, ending on a metallic note. Almost malt liquory in a way. By far the most inferior of the Broughton line I’ve tried.

0.5 l bottle. Golden to copper color with decent head. Sweetish aroma with tart fruitiness, honey and parfumy hops. Malty, somewhat sweet flavor with quite strong fruity and resiny hop flavor, medium bitterness. A bit rough finish. Nice balance between sweetness and hops. This bottle was not very fresh, I have had better samples.

A bit darker than normal lager, with a thick head that later forms a small island in the glass...cool. (I’m not high at the moment). Flowery caramel, melass aroma. Fudge, some tobacco. Very strong taste, flowers again and the bitterness is awesome. Quite long.

500ml bottle. Rich orange, healthy cream-coloured doughy head. Sweet fruity aroma, pleasantly malty, and also nicely somewhere between a brown and sour. Taste matches light notes of peach and apple, with a strong bitter finish. Slight hint of alcohol a few times, alas.

Bottle. Hazy golden with a beige creamish short head. Aroma of hops, caramel and fruity with some tartness. The flavour is quite hoppy and dry with some sweetness, malty and bit spiced. Dry hoppy slight sour and metallic finish.

Clear golden color and white head with moderate retention. Aroma is a little sweet, with honey and a little fruity. The flavour starts with some sweet notes of honey, gets some fruits and ends with a nice hop finish and a little acidity. It is a pleasant beer.

This ale has a moderate head and a nice amber color. The mouthfeel is full and round, and the aroma has honey notes. The flavour is sweetish with notes of honey, hops, fruit and malt. The bitterness doesn’t show up until the finish, where it is accompanied by a surprising astringent acidity.
