Feb 7, 2008 Bottled, 500ml, pasteurised. Dark brown with only slight head, flat. Sweet but tart old ale, lots of burnt and fruity notes, toffee, plum, apple and chocolate malt with a bready, yeasty background. The alcohol is masked in the sweetness. It’s ok without being memorable.

Jan 18, 2008 Bottle. Dark brown with a beige head. Great roasted aroma. Bread, burnt caramel. Sweetish flavours, burnt malts. Body could be more substantial for all the flavours. Quite nice if somewhat on the sweet side.
