(Cask at Market Porter, Borough, London, 8 Aug 2008) Reddish brown colour with frothy, pale brown head. Malty nose with dark fruit and nuts. Malty, roasted taste with notes of dark fruit, prunes, raisins and a fairly dry finish with hints of coffee. Decent beer, but doesn’t really leave a lasting impression.

Cask, Far From The Madding Crowd, Oxford. Used copper, off-white head that lingers nicely. Plums, leaves and chocolate aroma. Soft caramel flavor, marmalade and roast, pithy hop bitterness. Something weedy about this in the first few sips seemed to pass, and ended up at least pleasant.

Cask @ Guildford Arms, november 07. Clear, shinny ruby color with a small, compact beige head. Deep, dark crystal malts flavor with some very slight dried fruits notes. Medium palate, rounded. Neutral aroma, some plummy notes. Ok, ruby, caramelly ale.
