Surprisingly pale for a bitter, more golden than amber. Maybe it’s because I had this after the Old Ale, but I found it quite thin and unremarkable.

Bottled. A copper coloured beer with a white head. The aroma is woody and pretty malty. The taste has some tobacco and bready malts. Quite earthy and noticeably Scottish.

500ml bottle (Poirotti, Helsinki, Skotoberfest 2007) Orange colour, thin head.Slightly gingery, hoppy aroma. Slightly sour malty taste. Not much on the hops front. Slightly watery but with not enough not enough body to fil the gaps.

Aroma is a sweet thin malt scent. Color is a deep almost brown gold with very good carbonation and a thick tight head. Taste is smooth and bitter. Starting with a medium body it goes down smooth with a crisp feel on the back. Finish comes in with a creamy malt flavor that is backed nicely with a faint hop flavor and mellow bitterness. Aftertaste is just a touch dry with a very faint smoke taste. This is a tasty brew but not as bitter as I though it would be

Bottled 50cl. It pours a clear golden beer with a small whitish head. Honey, caramel, sorbet, hay and a hint of burnt tyres in the aroma. Quite a lot of hay, sorbet and marmite in the taste. A good hop presence. Light-bodied. Floral. Good lacing. The finish is dry and bitter with a hint of caramel.

(50cl bottle, best by end 5/08) Large off-white head atop crystal clear, light amber body. Aroma is medium sweet, orange/floral, light caramel. Taste is mild, medium sweet, orange/floral, some caramel, earthy. Watery light body, very easy to drink.
