Any first impressions?
-A sturdy sheet of foam lazes atop the tawny-brown.
-Caramel, raisins, and berries rise to the occasion, and entice an excited first sip.
-Black grapes and caramel maltiness coalesce in the elegant flavor profile.
-A round, creamy mouthfeel knows how to please.

What if you dig deeper?
-Light vinosity garnishes the finish, playing off the malty sweetness very well.
-The fruity sweetness is complex, and deserves study.
-A seamless, smooth interplay of rich flavors is what I got in this cask of Old Jock; a very classy pint of old ale.

On cask at Tennent’s Bar, Glasgow.

Cask at the Maltings York Sign said abv was at 6.7%: Came off the pumb a very dark ruby color. Aroma was of tons of sweet malt, raisin, and alcohol in the background. Very rich and malty flavor exhibiting dark fruits and alcohol. I have to say that they alcohol wasn’t very well hidden. good medium heavy palate. Twas good, but not great.

Cask conditioned - handpump - White Horse - Parsons Green London SW6. A mid brown beer with a bit of a purple hint. The aroma is quite vinuous and the taste is warming with sweet, fruity, malty alcohol and maybe a hint of cherry brandy.

Really hard to swallow, but it wa snice, sweet and alcoholic at the same time. I liked the apple like rotten in the aroma. It is stronger than in the bottle, but the aroma, alcoholic is stronger in the one Bottle.

Hand pulled at the White Horse, Parsons Green, London (as part of their Old Ale festival), with Joeh and Maeib. Brown colour, sparse lacing. Slightly sweetened malt aroma (very enjoyable). Smooth, medium bitter flavour, then a pleasantly tangy, sour finish. Slight cherry brandy (good spot Mark!).

Gravicask, The Bull at Witherly, 6.7%. Amber brown measure nicely heaped with froth. Smotheringly sweet nose of rapsberry, old vegetable nuttiness/dankness, wet sock. Strange, but not repulsive. Mouth fat with caramel, overripe boozy fruit, cherryish alcohol, dunked Twiglet. A hint of oaky old tun. No off notes here, enjoyed it.
