Commercial Description:
Bottle; Pasteurised.
Sometimes known as Kinmount Willie Oatmeal Stout in the US.
Ingredients: Maris Otter Malt; Black Malt; Roasted Barley; Pinhead Oats; English grown Fuggles, Goldings and Target hops.
"Oats are used in the brewing of Scottish Oatmeal Stout to enhance the flavour of the black malt and roasted barley which give this traditional beer its rich dark colour and strong, complex roasted malt aroma and flavour, reminiscent of coffee and chocolate. These flavours are offset by a good hop bitterness and silky aftertaste."

Bottle. Pours dark ruby with a fading khaki head. The aroma is caramel and cola with just a bit of grass. The flavor contains caramel, cherry, cucumber, and lots of cola (especially in the finish). I’m not a huge fan of this one.

Kinmount WIllie Pint- Pours a thin black with a odd aroma of alcohol. Strong roasted malt flavor. Very pleasant overall. Didn’t seem as watery as others made it seem.

Pours dark brown, thin white head. Bubbles away profusely for a little while. Nose was lots of malt, some chocolatey burnt malt, perhaps a little bit of oat smell, not much though. Touch of coffee. Flavour is much of the same, watery, more coffee and burnt roasted malt. Bit of bitterness. Palate is thin, bland and watery. Alright, I suppose.

One pint, nine ounce bottle. Poured pure brown with a respectable 2 inch tan head. I found the aroma to be rather unpleasant and stale. The flavor was similar to the aroma. Stale and watery with whiffs of bitter cocoa noticable at times. Aftertaste was sharply bitter malt. Normally, I am a big fan of Oatmeal Stouts. Not this time around.

A Mes rate: 50cl bottle from Thirst for Beer, Pwllheli. Smells and tastes of horse manure to me. Black malt is the dominating character and there really is not much else going on other than a metalic hint that does not do it any favours. Thin yet creamy mouthfeel does not help any either. Slightly bitter for the finish which is probably the best thing about it. Nothing special by any stretch of the imagination.

Bottle. Pours a deep brown with a small beige head. Aroma of chocolate malts, roast, and fuggle hops. The flavor is sweet, chocolate, roast, and slight bitterness from the hops. Decent brew.

A nice drinkable stout, this one poured a dark brown with a normal head and standard lacing for the style. The aroma was hard to pick up, some bitter chocolate. The flavor was bitter chocolate with some lactic tones and light roasted malts. Mouthfeel was moderate to full bodied. Low carbonation.

Bottle: Brown body with ruby highlights and a nice tan head, roasted chocolate aroma with some light grains, medium bodied with light carbonation, starts and ends lightly sweet.
