Commercial Description:
Bottle; Pasteurised.
Sometimes known as Kinmount Willie Oatmeal Stout in the US.
Ingredients: Maris Otter Malt; Black Malt; Roasted Barley; Pinhead Oats; English grown Fuggles, Goldings and Target hops.
"Oats are used in the brewing of Scottish Oatmeal Stout to enhance the flavour of the black malt and roasted barley which give this traditional beer its rich dark colour and strong, complex roasted malt aroma and flavour, reminiscent of coffee and chocolate. These flavours are offset by a good hop bitterness and silky aftertaste."

Bottled. Very dark-brown coloured, brown head. Roasted malts, smoke and chocolate in aroma. Pretty sweet flavour, thick mouthfeel. I like these sweet stouts.

Bottle. Slightly metallic liquorice aroma. Almost black colour, red hue. Small light brown head. Mouthfeel is slightly thin, carbonation above medium. Flavour is mild, lightly roasted. OK, but a little too mild for my liking. 6 3 6 3 12

ÅBF08. Weak creamy aroma. Dark brown colour. Roasted flavour. Slightly thin mouthfeel. 5 3 5 3 11

A litle coffee in the aroma, but not much. This beer is pretty much nothing. Any flavor fades quickly as it takes some metal from the bottle too. One of the worst stouts I’ve had.

Dark brown (almost black) with a small beige head. Light aroma of roastiness with a hint of cola. Overall very light in flavor; notes of roasted malt and some coffee and chocolate. Not sweet at all, has a touch of bitterness at the end. Unacceptably thin, watery and fizzy mouthfeel - felt like a soda. You can do a lot better than this.

Kinmount Willie bottle. Pours a lovely black color with a rather thick caramel colored head. Hints of coffee and chocolate in the aroma but it’s not very strong. Coffee in the flavor with an extremely thin finish. Not a whole lot going on here. Bland as all hell.

Roasted barley, rubbing alcohol and peat. Black with a thumb thick creamy mocha head. Black licorice, cane sugar, molasses and cane syrup all make appearances in the fore and middle while the end is solidly smooth maltiness. Not big or aggressive enough for most American palates I imagine, but I personally found it a refreshing change.

500 ml bottle, bought at Vinens Verden, Odense, Denmark. Black (= very dark ruby) colour, good tan head. Pleasant aroma: chocolate, roasted barley, coffee, prunes, leather. Mouthfeel is a bit thin, faintly acidic. Mellow flavour of roasted barley / dark malts, low bitterness. Not too much going on flavourwise, does not quite live up to the expectations the aroma creates.
