Commercial Description:
Bottle; Pasteurised.
Sometimes known as Kinmount Willie Oatmeal Stout in the US.
Ingredients: Maris Otter Malt; Black Malt; Roasted Barley; Pinhead Oats; English grown Fuggles, Goldings and Target hops.
"Oats are used in the brewing of Scottish Oatmeal Stout to enhance the flavour of the black malt and roasted barley which give this traditional beer its rich dark colour and strong, complex roasted malt aroma and flavour, reminiscent of coffee and chocolate. These flavours are offset by a good hop bitterness and silky aftertaste."

This is only my second oatmeal stout. Aroma is noithign as the bootle is near freezing. I warm in my hands for 20 mins aroma is stouty sweet but light all the same. taste is similar weak flavours going on with rounded light sweetness going on. All round a very easy going beer, though lacking in flavour some what.

Sweet, lightly roasty, fruity aroma. Opaque black body with decent tan head that lasts well. Liquorice, chocolate fruity flavour with fair roasty bitterness. Light body is somewhat watery despite strong carbonation. Bottle. Entered from notes.

bottle. Pours a dark brown with a quickly dissipating head. The aroma is malty with disctinct sweet chocolate notes. It’s got a mouthfeel which is quite watery given it’s appearance and noticeably carbonated. It tastes like a cola with malts thrown in. It’s an overall good flavor, just needs much more roastiness and just more flavor in general. It’s definitely a refreshing beverage, at least.

thanks to Lou18 for the bottle. a nice looking and smelling sweet stout. even the flavor isn’t bad. but this one is just too damn watery and fizzy for my taste. a real shame, ’cause the flavor is decent with a nice dry finish.

Pours black with light brown head. Smell is of faint milk chocolate and berries maybe. The taste is much lighter and is more like coffee and is hoppy. Goes down smooth but just really wasn’t up to par for an oatmeal stout.

1pt 9oz bottle labeled as Kinmount Willie Stout - pours dark brown with a short fizzy offwhite head that dissipates very quickly. Aroma is barely there but a bit of chocolate comes through. Flavor is baker’s chocolate, smoke and some roasted malts and some kind of funky sour aftertaste that I just couldn’t put a finger on. A combination of bitter and sweet flavors make the taste never really seem right.. Palate is quite watery and thin for a stout. I’ll steer clear of this one from now on.

Bottle 12 oz. with the name of Kinmount Willie. Dark brown color with a medium light brown head that diminished slowly. Medium sweet chocolate aroma. Medium to full body with smooth texture. Medium flavor that was bitter for a sweet stout. Interesting but below average for style.

Black color with a thin head. Aroma is strange... not really full on chocolate or coffee, but maybe bittersweet and/or baker’s chocolate. Interesting. The taste was a bountiful supply of smoke and peat. Very smooth. Slightly watery, but not too a distraction. More of a scottish ale than a stout, let alone a sweet stout.
