Commercial Description:
Bottle; Pasteurised.
Sometimes known as Kinmount Willie Oatmeal Stout in the US.
Ingredients: Maris Otter Malt; Black Malt; Roasted Barley; Pinhead Oats; English grown Fuggles, Goldings and Target hops.
"Oats are used in the brewing of Scottish Oatmeal Stout to enhance the flavour of the black malt and roasted barley which give this traditional beer its rich dark colour and strong, complex roasted malt aroma and flavour, reminiscent of coffee and chocolate. These flavours are offset by a good hop bitterness and silky aftertaste."

Doughy, chocolate nose, very slightly roasty; watery, especially for an oatmeal stout, fairly flavorless other than some subtle carafe-type smooth roast; vague caramel and bread; generally, thoughoughly unimpressive and the worst $4 I’ve spent since Burger King

A decent stout, but nothing too amazing. Not that much of a sweet stout, as they oatmeal sweetness is not too noticable. Only a little bit of sweentess in the aftertaste. Easy to drink, but nothing special. My bottle has a much cooler picture on the cover of a guy in a metal helmet out of the middle ages though.

Bottled. Black beer with no head. The aroma seems quite roasty for a sweet stout but with some leathery and rubbery notes (as Kook points out). The taste has some oatmeal sweetness but is a bit stale tasting and fusty. Still drinkable but I cannot help downrating it as it is nowhere near as good as the Sam Smiths (which even my good freind SilkTork would agree with!)

Bottled: Black with a tan head. Mild choc leathery aroma, touch of rubber almost. Sweet choc, woody taste. Medium bodied. Ok but a bit weird, feels more like a mild than a stout.

An easy-drinking sweet oatmeal stout in the Scottish style (in other words, don’t expect a big Irish body or bitterness in the finish). Pours with a fair tan head. Big nose bursting with treacle toffee and licorice. The palate is light for a stout, smooth and dry. Roast barley notes. Very drinkable. (Bottle)

bottle. Poured black with nice tan head. Easy to drink, not much mouth feel or flavor. Odd I was expecting much more. Oh, well, not bad, but nothing special.

tastes like a barney flats mixed 50:50 with bass. Yuk. Why? This seems to be a common thread here in Glasgow. The only stouts you can find ... don’t taste like stouts. Bar tenders here don’t even know what a porter IS!!! It would be good if you called it a strong ale.

A dak and pleasant stout. Some roastiness but too thin to be seen as a classic stout. Overall a bit dull.
