Commercial Description:
Bottle; Pasteurised.
Sometimes known as Kinmount Willie Oatmeal Stout in the US.
Ingredients: Maris Otter Malt; Black Malt; Roasted Barley; Pinhead Oats; English grown Fuggles, Goldings and Target hops.
"Oats are used in the brewing of Scottish Oatmeal Stout to enhance the flavour of the black malt and roasted barley which give this traditional beer its rich dark colour and strong, complex roasted malt aroma and flavour, reminiscent of coffee and chocolate. These flavours are offset by a good hop bitterness and silky aftertaste."

Bottle (500ml). Via trade with jerc. Very deep clear ruby, good-sized frothy tan lasting head. Mild roast aroma, sweet and grassy celery-like hops - a little thin and sweet. Taste is also a little mild, but interesting - very light molasses, tobacco, leather, tart ripe cherry - and the odd light grassy hops. Weak body, a touch of astringency, only moderately lively mouthfeel, quick finish, a little lingering acidity left on the tongue. Drinkable, light, not all that memorable.

Bottled. A near black beer, with a brown head that disappears quickly. Aroma of roasted malt and coffee, but i would have prefered more strong aromas. The falvour is quite sweet and delicate with malt, chocolate and coffee. The body is a little watery. Aftertaste lasts not so long. Nothing really wrong with this beer, but I prefer stouts with much charachter or stronger.

Bottled. Nice dark pour looked like it was off to a good start. Roasted malt aroma with hints of coffee again nice. A rich full flavor with a sweet finish but it was just dissapointing for me. I expected a little better. Not a bad brew just an average stout.

Pours a black color with a brown head. Aroma is of chocolate, roasted malts, coffee, and the sweeter aroma from the oats. Flavor is strong of roasted malts and coffee. Undertones of chocolate. Has a slight bitter finish with some oats as well. Better then I expected.

Looks lovely but doesn’t quite come up to scratch with its flavour. Tastes a bit dark but really could do better.

Bottled. Black color with a small brown head. Smoked aroma. Taste is roasted malt, coffee. Smooth and nice mouthfeel. I was expecting a stronger beer.

500ml bottled as "Kinmount Willie Stout" Pours a clear blackish brown with a thin tan head. Tastes more like a milk stout than an oatmeal stout. In either case it belongs in the sweet stouts category. Aroma of molasses and roasted nuts, along with some fruit. Smooth medium body with fizzy carbonation. Sweet taste of chocolate, with almost no roasty/coffee notes. I’m not finding the "good hop bitterness and silky aftertaste." It’s an OK beer, but on the low end of the Stout spectrum for me.

A fair stab at a stout. Very smooth and sticky sweet with notes of figs and dates. Smoothness is the key here, but not enough umph to warrant a higher ranking.
