How: Tap at Chambly Beer Festival 2009
The look: Black body topped by a very small tan head
In long: Nose displays the advertised raspberries, chocolate and mint. Taste is more of the same. The idea sounds good on paper. Chocolate and raspberries is a good food pairing. In a beer, not so much. The strawberry flavour came through as “fake”. I thought the beer was too minty and that made it taste like one of those digestive cookies. The light strawberry sourness didn’t sit well with the rest of the beer. Anyway, to me this beer didn’t work. The first beer I don’t like from Brouhaha. So tonight I was working on my “How Major League Baseball organised the 9-11 attack” thesis and after checking on my favourite animal-and-amputees porn web sites I decide to log in to ratebeer to enter my rating. And I see that everyone but me liked this beer. That made me feel like maybe there’s something wrong with me.

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Sep 17, 2009 Ordering this beer was quite a challenge for me. Described as a stout with mint, raspberry and chocolate, it’s normally the kind of beer I stay away from. I was expecting to much of everything. Reality check : Intense "after eightish" it’s all mint in there. Surprise! First palate impressions is tart raspberry followed by bitter chocolate on a light-medium body, a little thin for a stout but in this case I tought it suited the whole thing pretty well. Too much body would have been impossible to swallow a whole glass.
I liked it a lot, great balance of all the tastes.

TaktikMTL (2786), Montréal-Nord, Quebec, Canada
