Flowery nose, some liquorice and other spices, peppery smelling. Sweet-spicy flavours, discreet ginger and it would seem some pearester. Well-bodied, but not really viscous or oily. Alcohol is very present in the aftertaste. Interesting, but not really outstanding. thebeertourist (2838), Oslo, Norway
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 27, 2009 0.75 l bottle from ’t Rusteel. Nice hazy deep red amber colour with a medium head. Fruity aroma with pears and apples. Flavours start fruity as well, mid-way meeting some caramel and ending semi-dry. Full-bodied. Well-carbonated. Robust Belgian craftmanship shines through, worthy of celebrating the 25 years’ existence of one of Belgium’s best (and most unsung) beer cafés, ’t Rusteel near Kortrijk.
