Tastes of tofee, caramel, citrus, and nutty. Medium alcohol finish. egajdzis (3598), Spring Mount, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 19, 2007 Poured a lightly hazy, red amber color with a small, off white head that left spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma of light floral hops, citrus fruits, a bit of metal, light DMS, with caramel, and some alcohol as well. Taste of maple syrup, some caramel, cardboard, toasted dough, with dry grapefruit, and some alcohol in the finish as well. YourDarkLord (1800), Urbana, Illinois, USA Aug 30, 2007 Murky chestnut body topped with a small, ecru head. Fruity aroma with notes of alcohol and malt, molasses. Medium body with a slight syrupy feel. Flavor was dark dried fruit and alcohol. Not a bad barleywine. npdempse (931), St. Petersburg, Florida, USA Aug 19, 2007 Hazy brown/amber with a very small head. Delicate aroma with a good bit of honey, some tobacco and cherry notes. Flavor is quite sweet, with much of the character of a nicely aged English barleywine--tobacco, walnuts, honey, cherry. Good dry bitterness finishes it off. Surprisingly impressive. buckybeer (666), Eau Claire, Wisconsin, USA Jul 26, 2007 Aquired from antzman. Thank you. Pours a dark copper and has a smal off white head. Aroma is fermented fruits, malts, sweet tarts. Flavor is is sweetend malts, bitter hops, medicinal. Body seemed a tad thin. Retorp (2154), Tampa, Florida, USA Jun 3, 2007 Courtesy of Kevster. Thanks, Kevin. The aroma is fruity with a strong malt aroma and mild vegetal notes. The body is a muddy brown with nearly no head. Sticky sweet fore is followed by sweetwer candy sugar notes and oxidated caramel. The mouthfeel is pretty thin for a BW, but you get a pretty nice dark fruit flavored blast int he finish which saves this beer from being awful and actually gets me wanting another sip.
