It pours a hazy red-amber with thin off white head. Nice looking barleywine. How about the nose. Well the aroma is on the light side with hints of dark fruit and sweet caramelized malts. The taste is very much hard fruit candy soaked in alcohol. Wow, lots of cherry and sweet raspberry candy flavors. Rounding out the candy fruitiness is sweet caramelized malts. Into the finish there is more candy fruitiness that would become overwhelming if I was drinking the whole 22oz bomber myself. NYHarvey (2154), New York, New York, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 3, 2007 Courtesy of Kevster. Thanks, Kevin. The aroma is fruity with a strong malt aroma and mild vegetal notes. The body is a muddy brown with nearly no head. Sticky sweet fore is followed by sweetwer candy sugar notes and oxidated caramel. The mouthfeel is pretty thin for a BW, but you get a pretty nice dark fruit flavored blast int he finish which saves this beer from being awful and actually gets me wanting another sip. sliffy (2012), Columbus, Ohio, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 5, 2007 Draft at the brewery: poured a muddy reddish brown with a small offwhite head. Aroma of fruit and alcohol with some light rubber/plastic notes. Flavor is semi-hot but not overwhelmingly so. As the bartender himself said, "it’s a little green, I’ve heard." Bingo. Very light sweetness with a pretty bitter finish. Slight pear taste. Probably could do with some aging and some more malt sweetness.
