Commercial Description:
A classic English Style, this strong ale offers a huge body that is dominated by a malty sweetness. Shag bark hickory syrup adds a spiciness and high alcohol strength to this richly aged beer. She Devil Imperial IPA: This high gravity pale ale has a beautiful pale copper color with a delicate, somewhat spicy hop aroma. A full malty flavor that has some fruity, estery overtones is offset by a long, clean, lingering hop bitterness.

22oz bottle shared courtesy of TomDecapolis. Poured a deep amber color with a small sized off white head. Aromas of toffee, citrus, caramel, woody, and there was something there I just couldn’t figure out. Tastes of tofee, caramel, citrus, and nutty. Medium alcohol finish.

Draft at Brownings. Poured orange copper color with an average off-white creamy head that was mostly lasting with excellent lacing. Moderate sweet fruit and alcohol aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture. Medium balanced flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. I would recommend this to a freind.

Poured a lightly hazy, red amber color with a small, off white head that left spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma of light floral hops, citrus fruits, a bit of metal, light DMS, with caramel, and some alcohol as well. Taste of maple syrup, some caramel, cardboard, toasted dough, with dry grapefruit, and some alcohol in the finish as well.

Bomber brought by Kevster, thanks for bringing this rare elixir along.

It pours a hazy red-amber with thin off white head. Nice looking barleywine. How about the nose. Well the aroma is on the light side with hints of dark fruit and sweet caramelized malts. The taste is very much hard fruit candy soaked in alcohol. Wow, lots of cherry and sweet raspberry candy flavors. Rounding out the candy fruitiness is sweet caramelized malts. Into the finish there is more candy fruitiness that would become overwhelming if I was drinking the whole 22oz bomber myself.

Courtesy of Kevster. Thanks, Kevin. The aroma is fruity with a strong malt aroma and mild vegetal notes. The body is a muddy brown with nearly no head. Sticky sweet fore is followed by sweetwer candy sugar notes and oxidated caramel. The mouthfeel is pretty thin for a BW, but you get a pretty nice dark fruit flavored blast int he finish which saves this beer from being awful and actually gets me wanting another sip.

Draft at the brewery: poured a muddy reddish brown with a small offwhite head. Aroma of fruit and alcohol with some light rubber/plastic notes. Flavor is semi-hot but not overwhelmingly so. As the bartender himself said, "it’s a little green, I’ve heard." Bingo. Very light sweetness with a pretty bitter finish. Slight pear taste. Probably could do with some aging and some more malt sweetness.
