Commercial Description:
A classic English Style, this strong ale offers a huge body that is dominated by a malty sweetness. Shag bark hickory syrup adds a spiciness and high alcohol strength to this richly aged beer. She Devil Imperial IPA: This high gravity pale ale has a beautiful pale copper color with a delicate, somewhat spicy hop aroma. A full malty flavor that has some fruity, estery overtones is offset by a long, clean, lingering hop bitterness.

Hazy brown/amber with a very small head. Delicate aroma with a good bit of honey, some tobacco and cherry notes. Flavor is quite sweet, with much of the character of a nicely aged English barleywine--tobacco, walnuts, honey, cherry. Good dry bitterness finishes it off. Surprisingly impressive.

Bottle. I’ve had this on draft before, but bottled is a whole new experience. Dark amber with a full off white head. The aroma is very malty, with dark fruits, and a bit of alcohol. The flavor is malt heaven. Very sweet even at a young age, with a ton of malts. The Shag bark syrup gives it a great boost. I can’t wait to age these a while and see how they change.

On tap at Brownings on Feb. 19th. clear amber with a nice off white head. nice lacing. malty dried fruit aroma with a light touch of hops and a hint of smoke. sweet dried fruit flavor...very malty some honey and molasses flavors....light bitter hop notes. fairly sweet finish with a light hop bitterness. full body. The beer has been entered as 11% alcohol......the assistant brewer told me that it was 13%. for either the alcohol level didnt seem outrageous. its interesting how the ratings of this beer have increased over a month. I need to get back to brownings to try this one again. I was very impressed.

Huge thanks to Kevster for picking up this rare beauty and being kind enough to share with us.

Pours a lovely plum color, small off white head. Looks like a barley wine should. Aromas of sweet candied fruits, brown sugar, molasses, diacetyl. Flavor is more of the same, with the sweetness coming through the most. Sticky, cloying mouthfeel. FInish is medium length. Didn’t seem at all like 11%. Nice beer, I liked it quite a bit more than their Imp Stout.

Thanks to hatchy for sharing this rare one during a brew session. Pours a hazy brownish amber with a smaller creamy off white head that left some lacing. Aroma of dark fruits, malty sweetness, the hickory syrup, Flavor of toast sweet malts, hickory syrup, dark fruits, vanilla, some oxidation and caramel malt.

Bomber brought by Kevster, thanks for bringing this rare elixir along.

It pours a hazy red-amber with thin off white head. Nice looking barleywine. How about the nose. Well the aroma is on the light side with hints of dark fruit and sweet caramelized malts. The taste is very much hard fruit candy soaked in alcohol. Wow, lots of cherry and sweet raspberry candy flavors. Rounding out the candy fruitiness is sweet caramelized malts. Into the finish there is more candy fruitiness that would become overwhelming if I was drinking the whole 22oz bomber myself.

Poured out of a crazy looking growler at DLD by some lady I cant remember her username. Aroma of some malty and light chocolate with a little bit of alcohol coming through. This was allright.

Draft at Brownings. Poured orange copper color with an average off-white creamy head that was mostly lasting with excellent lacing. Moderate sweet fruit and alcohol aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture. Medium balanced flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. I would recommend this to a freind.
