Bomber. Dusty mild aroma with mild cirtus and pine. Pours an opaque murky brown with a large frothy beige head. Taste is very bitter but not extreme, cracker and bread up there just as strongly, thick body with omnipresent alcohol. Lightly herbal and rather earthy, enjoyably needley but heavy and a little depressing.

Draft at Old Town Alehouse. Pours amber orange with a lasting sticky off white head. Nice lace left behind. The nose is sweet peach Jolly Ranchers with a twang. There’s a lot of caramel and grassy hops, but the flavor is pretty muddled and not really all that good. Medium-full body with average carbonation. Bitter finish. Not very memorable at all. Oh, and there is no way this is imperial. Hell, its not even double.

2007 vintage. Amber pour, modest head, good lacing. Other than that a pretty unremarkable beer. Mild hops with some malt with caramel and a hint of citrus.Pretty weak for an impy. Not a stand out. $4.99 bomber.

Bomber at Jerry’s. Hazy amber with big, floatsam head / Interesting vegetal, caramel, hop nose / Medium body, bigger malt and hop balance, residual sweetness, with good, dry finish / Delicate, fresh flavors of burnt sugar, dry hops, weed, and grapefruit / A maltier double, but real good.

(Sampled 7-14-08 at brewery) transparent amber-brown in appearance, mild lacing, small aroma of hops and flora. Hits the mouth with a high-low body, bitterness at the start, malt is weak and comes in the middle, finish is collapseable. Let down.

Bomber thanks to Nate! Poured medium orange with a short cap of white head. The aroma picked up sweet orange peel and grapefruit with warmer spicy pine and warmth on the back.. I really dug this! The flavor found sweeter caramel paired with grapefruit at the core with pine and citrusy bitterness around that struck me as a tad raw.. alcohol amplifed the bitterness primarily and helped leave a warm citrus and caramel finish.. tasty overall. Heavier-bodied with only OK balance on the palate. I found this to be a mighty enjoyable brew!

On tap. Pours hazy copper with an off-white head. The aroma has suggestions wood, citrus, some plastic. The hop profile is interesting. The palate is just medium, though it works well for this. There isn’t a whole lot of bite to this one, just adequate orange, and assorted citrus. A sharper wooden note is found in the finish, probably the most bitter thing about the beer. Along with the citrusy character, I found hints at melons and nutmeg. I enjoyed the beer pretty well, but it is absolutely too mild for an IIPA.
