BuckNaked (1195), Tempe, Arizona, USA Aug 19, 2004 On tap at brewery: This porter looked very promising to me. It was very dark brown, almost a black, very thick, and had a small tan head to it. The aroma was dominated by roasted malt flavors, lots of darker malt smells. Tasted very roasty, bitter, with just the slightest of chocolate flavors. I would have loved this to be a little more complex in terms of the roasted taste, perhaps adding some more bittersweet chocolate and caramel flavors to balance it out. My favorite one of the day there. Sammy (3135), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 4, 2004 Great creamy head and roasty aroma. Very roasty and creamy taste. Very smooth. With Godiva chocolate. Dessert. Top 10% of my rankings. irishsnake (353), Oakland, California, USA Apr 10, 2004 pint at brewery. a very dark porter with a good roast aroma. this drinks similarly to a dry stout, or a non-nitro blackhook. a good beer that went very well with the food.
