Commercial Description:
Bruegel is an easy drinking soft and tasty amber ale. Thanks to the refermentation it offers more body, more head and more taste than most other American and Belgian Amber ales. It is brewed with Dutch barley and German hops. Although the bitterness is clearly present, it is not dominant.

Nice amber color with smallish off-white head. Good lacing. Nice aroma...mostly cherries... a little sweet-n-sour. Taste is a nice cherry with orange accents. Refreshing tartness. Lingering saccharine sweetness a tad distracting. Overall a nice beer.

Says amber on the bottle but is definitely closer to a double to me. Murky, muddy brown color which is not all that attractive. Earthy and fruity aroma. The fruit comes through in the flavor with some grape and apple in there. Overall a well rounded beer.

330ml bottle served in a Chimay chalice. Aroma is mild to moderate brett (barnyard), citrus, and light honey/caramel. I think it smells great, akin to Orval. Gold colored with a wispy head and light, but persistent carbonation. A small amount of yeast stays with the bottle. Tatse is tasty brett (barnyard/horseblanket), citrus (lemon), mildly earthy, minerally taste along with some nice, firm malt backing. Finishes dry, somewhat thin, but not too bad at all. My rating appears to be much higher than most, maybe I got an infected bottle? If so, thanks!

I seem to get brett character out of several Van Steenberge beers.

Pours obviously an amber colour, with a small beige head. The aroma is of caramalts, dried apricot, lots of sweet malts and other fruits as well. It actually smells really nice, like how an actual amber ale would/should. Tastes, odd, not bad, but it doesn’t make me say wow. It tastes like everything I listed above, with a bit of yeast, and a slightly hoppy/ metallic finish. Sweet, malty aftertaste. Unlike any other Belgian beer I’ve ever come across before, it’s sort of a blend of a Wit with an amber ale. The result is pleasant enough. Decent beer. It gets some bonus point for the neat-looking illustration on the bottle label.

Bottle from LCBO. Amber pour with a white film. Sweet malty aroma. Flavour is caramel malt, with a bready aftertaste. Not a beer that knock you over the head with extreme flavours, but a nice easy drinking session ale.

Bottled @ Belgian Beer Cafe, Rio de Janeiro. An amber beer with a medium beige head. aroma is sweet, fruity and malty. Taste is sour, lemon. High carbonation. A bit watery. I was expecting more...

I bought this beer becasue I was intrigued by the squat bottle and in the mood for something new. I found it to have a rich think flavor with a bready after taste.

Pours a clear orange with a whitish-orange head. Extremely ’sticky’ head. The aroma is inescapably cheddar cheese and vinegar. Hopefully this bottle is off. The flavour is significantly better: the cheese manifests itself in caramel. Chewy, sweet malts are balanced by a slightly bitter hop finish. Well balanced, if slightly bland -- almost like an understated bitter. Dry. Slightly watery. This is okay.
