Commercial Description:
Bruegel is an easy drinking soft and tasty amber ale. Thanks to the refermentation it offers more body, more head and more taste than most other American and Belgian Amber ales. It is brewed with Dutch barley and German hops. Although the bitterness is clearly present, it is not dominant.

Foamy head. Flavor like a decent American amber ale but somewhat metallic taste in there somewhere.

Copper colour with an medium rough foamy head. Light caramel malt aroma. Very little hop character, malty caramel flavour, quite dry. Medium body. Quite a boring beer, doesn’t seem Belgian at all, no estery, floral characteristics. More akin to an Irish ale really.

11.2 oz bottle part of a variety six-pack. Copper amber with a firm head, nice typical belgian aroma, and as the description says, more flavor than a US amber ale. A pleasant drink.

Bottle: Poured a copper amber color with creamy off white head. The aroma is fruit and malty. Sweet caramel malt flavor with hint of honey.

Pours a very slightly cloudy gold with little head. Nose is like...apples and cheese. It’s been a while since I had such an odd nose. So weird. I get all sorts of weird descriptive terms off this one. Musty apple stew that has been sitting in the light for several hours. Flavor keeps that apple tone going, but it lacks a smooth balance or an interesting enough flavor profile to make it very interesting. I also get a caramel tone on the end. Feel is thin with minimal carbonation and the drinkability stays low due to uninspiring flavor and overall characteristics.

11.2 oz bottle from BevMo: Deep orange-amber color with a medium off-white head. Aroma is malty and bready. Flavor starts fruity followed by caramel and a lightly bitter slightly dry orange rind finish. Medium body is smooth with lively carbonation.

it is light - but not too light. it has a real refreshing and spicy character about it. it is bitter and fruity, almost lemony. it is also a bit chalky. nice light pure white head on a light golden brew. it has a kind of vegetable touch that fades to the fruit and grains, i find that appealing. this is a good country brew. i was mildy surprised.
