Gr0ve (1382), Oslo, Norway Jul 22, 2007 330 ml bottle. Clear amber colour. Medium-sized white head. Nutty caramel aromas. Notes of burnt caramel. Hints of physalis. Light-bodied. Some mellow caramel malts, but overall t is not really particularly interesting. OK, but nothing more. doublebock (196), USA Jul 20, 2007 Golden tranlucent color, lemony scent. Taste is slightly malty, sour with a spicy citrusy scent. Not much hops to speak of. Dry palate. jbrus (4835), Delft, Netherlands Jul 12, 2007 Bottled. Aroma is lactic with malts, caramel and herbs in the background. Amber color, beige irregular head, few lace. Sour, lactic, even vinegar, bit fruity, flat and thin. Something clearly went wrong somewhere. TheBeerBaron (218), Florida, USA Jul 4, 2007 Dark amber color, thick tan head but no carbonation in the glass. Rose and grapefruit aroma blending with a mild hop scent in the end. Medium palate without the intense carbonation of many belgium styles. Lemon and citrus flavor combined with strong representations of wheat give Bruegel a rounded flavor. A mild but persistant taste of hops rounds out an excellently put together beer. This brand is largely unknown in the States but it should be tried. badlizard (2325), Berkeley, California, USA Jun 25, 2007 Updated: Jun 26, 2007330 mL bottle. brownish golden amber with a thin white head. Aroma of bread and yeast. Taste of a grainy wheat bread and yeast. hayduke (1620), Eureka, California, USA Jun 25, 2007 Bottle. Poured a caramel colored brown with a fat off-white head and nice hunks of lacing. Nose is malts with strong caramel. Mouthfeel fizzy and not very enjoyable. Flavor is sweet, and there are lots of odd flavors. Not very enjoyable. luckygirl (1221), Boulder, Colorado, USA Jun 10, 2007 Bottled. Beer is hazy, medium oxidized caramel brown with a large, off-white, frothy, mostly and rapidly diminishing head. Chunky lacing.
Smells horribly flawed. Malty with a light note of caramel; Hoppy with a trace of lemon zest; Otherwise it’s a pure diacetyl bomb. I can smell it from the table before I even touch the glass it’s so bad.
Moderately sweet, lightly acidic/juicy sour with a short, trace acidic and sweet very dirty finish.
The body is light, the texture is watery and the carbonation is lively. SSSteve (2047), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Jun 9, 2007 caramel colored beer with small off-white head. flavor is mostly caramel and toffee. medium-light bodied. nice sour caramel apple flavors but lacks in the aroma department.
