AlchemistZ (493), Richmond, Virginia, USA Apr 6, 2006 Very rich amber-red color, appetizing, with a thin, fat-bubbled, tan head. Aroma is dry and toasty with winy fruitiness and some juicy fruit gum and sweet tart character. Flavor shows some richness and depth but also drinkability. A white wine fruitiness and a background but definite, juicy malt. Unfortunately, all of this goodness is ruined by an overriding plastic flavor that tastes somewhat like autolized yeast. iosonomarco (41), Milano, Italy Mar 30, 2006 Aroma di malto tostato, con note speziate e di caramello. Gusto dolce, caramellato, con un leggero rivestimento amaro che sale di tono verso il fondo. Si percepisce una maggiore gradazione alcolica rispetto a quella effettiva. Nejhleader (924), Lemoyne, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 30, 2006 Pretty sweet tasting brew. flavour was sweet, very different from what I think of amber ale. Bit of a creamy texture. Too sweet for me. Dorqui (1353), Brescia, Italy Mar 16, 2006 Maroon clearly and fraught color, not a lot hazy. Compact and abundant head even if rather little long-lasting. Much spiced and sweet scent; notes of caramel, lightly toasted malt, must and cellar. Lightly prickly and mellow taste, elevated alcoholic perception with fruity, of wine and clear mildew rumors. Modest bitter. Medium extended final. stegosaurus (1882), Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 15, 2006 Pours amber with a minimal white head. Aroma of sweet malts, citrus, caramel and yeast. Flavor is sweet upfront, smooth, caramel notes, with a bitter finish, another good belgian brew, yet easily forgettable. harmfuldrunk (288), New Jersey, USA Mar 7, 2006 soft drink yes but enjoyable not really. there is just not enough flavor or alcohol for my taste. there is a little bit of a sweet taste to it and some flavor just not very overwhelming HopsOrDie (687), New Lenox, Illinois, USA Feb 13, 2006 Amber colored beer with a medium bright white head. Not much carbonation for a Belgian. Strong caramel smell, almost like a Rolo with the chocolate sucked off. Goes down far too easy with the lack of carbonation. Flavor is very sweet with a huge caramel taste and some hop flavor and bitterness, but predominantly sweet. Birdiebeagle (778), Perkasie, Pennsylvania, USA Feb 3, 2006 11.2 oz bottle Pours a crystal clear amber with an off white head. Good lacing but didn’t last long. Aroma is good. Malty with just enough sweetness to make it very tempting. I get a touch honey and pears. Taste is very smooth. A light body with great flavors. The alcohol is well hidden. This is a very tasty beer. Two thumbs up.
