Nate (2533), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA May 9, 2005 Thanks to DMeyers69. A light fruity cherrywood aroma with a bit of Belgian yeast. Somewhat tart, but also has a bit of nutty hint to it. Light alcohol smell, too. Is medium dark amber, clear, with off-white lacing head. Medium watery body with mild carbonation. Starts with a sweet nuttiness, a bit dry, with some tang. Mild fruity malt with ozone-like quality. Burnt toy electric train tang. Kind of watery overall, like an amber ale mixed with some flemish sour ale. Aesir (127), California, USA May 7, 2005 Amber color. Has a slightly sweet earthy smell. Taste starts off with a bit of sweet malt and finishes on a strong lemon note. No noticeable hops. Looks like a couple of man-kissers on the label. leaparsons (4659), Leicester, Leicestershire, England May 6, 2005 Clear amber iwth an off-white head. Aromas are sweet toffee malts with a mellow fruitiness and spices. Flavours are fruit and spicy with sweet malts. OK, but all too mellowed out for my liking. rederic (1787), montréal, Quebec, Canada May 3, 2005 Bright amber color, light foamy head, hoppy nose gaving in his floral aspect, malty note follows through on a medium-bodied palate with small sour apples in a dry malty character and a bitter hop finish. bu11zeye (5430), Frisco, Texas, USA Apr 19, 2005 (Bottle) Pours a clear amber body with a descent off-white head. Aroma of wheat and wet grass with a hint of fruit. Flavor of sweet malt with some earthiness. mjg74 (1995), La Mesa, California, USA Apr 19, 2005 Pours a dark hazy orange/brown sort of color. Lots of foam on top. Aroma is somewhat yeasy and grainy. A little bit of a fruity aroma. I think somw spice as well. Flavor is bitter and a little grainy. Some fruitiness as well. A little lacking in the flavor department. Easy to down, but not memorable. SwedeDog (364), Windsor, Connecticut, USA Apr 18, 2005 For the first few seconds, the aroma was decent, orange peel and spices. Then it got metallic and sour, really fast. Flavor follows suit, some spice, some caramel, lots of aluminum. It actually turned my stomach. I hope to Christ it was a bad bottle, but I won’t go back for another, so I’ll never know. elnadeau (786), Laguna Niguel, California, USA Apr 15, 2005 A nice looking pour with a largish head, aroma is yeast and spice. A light bodied belgian with a sweet/sour tinge and a bit of spice in the finish. Enjoyable, not the best of the breed but a decent belgian when you need to back off on the abv.
