Stefano (1321), Esbjerg, Denmark Apr 13, 2009 Amber colour with a slightly off-white head. Aroma of light sweet apple cider. Flavor is light sweet paper and caramel. Boring ale from Steenberge. nqualls (1429), Nashville, Tennessee, USA Apr 13, 2009 Source: 11.2 oz bottle purchased from Greenlife Grocery in Chattangooa. Appearance: Poured a clear, light gold color (almost yellow) with a finger and a half of bubbly white head that quickly dissipated.. Aroma: Very earthy, musty with faint notes of caramel. Flavor: Toffee, earthy hops and a metallic twinge that dominated the finish. Very disappointing. Palate: Medium body and watery mouthfeel. The metallic bitterness hangs around for a while, and really ruins the rest of the beer. Overall: Very disappointing. Will not buy this one again.
kuphish (150), Bloomington, Indiana, USA Apr 9, 2009 Bottle. Pours a decent sized, frothy white head. Clear, amber body. Malty nose, heavy on caramel and raisins with some floral and grassy notes from the hops. Upon the first sip some toffee came through. Light, slightly sticky body with a fair amount of carbonation.
