Commercial Description:
Bruegel is an easy drinking soft and tasty amber ale. Thanks to the refermentation it offers more body, more head and more taste than most other American and Belgian Amber ales. It is brewed with Dutch barley and German hops. Although the bitterness is clearly present, it is not dominant.

Amber colour with a slightly off-white head. Aroma of light sweet apple cider. Flavor is light sweet paper and caramel. Boring ale from Steenberge.

Source: 11.2 oz bottle purchased from Greenlife Grocery in Chattangooa.
Appearance: Poured a clear, light gold color (almost yellow) with a finger and a half of bubbly white head that quickly dissipated..
Aroma: Very earthy, musty with faint notes of caramel.
Flavor: Toffee, earthy hops and a metallic twinge that dominated the finish. Very disappointing.
Palate: Medium body and watery mouthfeel. The metallic bitterness hangs around for a while, and really ruins the rest of the beer.
Overall: Very disappointing. Will not buy this one again.

Bottle. Pours a decent sized, frothy white head. Clear, amber body. Malty nose, heavy on caramel and raisins with some floral and grassy notes from the hops. Upon the first sip some toffee came through. Light, slightly sticky body with a fair amount of carbonation. Lightly bitter finish. A decent beer, but I had hoped for more.

330ml Bottle: Aroma of apples, yeast, pale malts, and grains. Poured gold/amber/apple juice in color with a small, rocky, white head that lasted throughout. Clear. Sparkling. Full of extremely tiny particles throughout. Good to very good lacing. Flavor is medium sweet. Tastes of pale malts, grains, yeast, light apple, light fruit, slight dough, a hint of pollen, and a cloying sweetness. Light to medium body. Thin, oily texture becomes slightly dry. Average carbonation. carbonation. Cloyingly sweet, light yeast finish is lightly dry.

This pours a cloudy amber color with a small white head. Aroma was grassy, and sweet. Flavor was sweet grassy and a weird sourness that is not good. Not a good belgian at all

330 mL bottle from Greenwood Gourmet Grocery near Crozet, VA. Pours a reddish amber color, slightly hazy, with a surprisingly small head considering it was such an explosive gusher. Decent head retention and nice lacing. Odd aroma of toasted malts, caramel, raisins and a slight tart note. Taste is toasted malts, caramel, toffee and bitter hops. Full bodied. Strange one.

This beer was NOT good. I must have gotten an bad bottle. Aroma of dough and barnyard. The appearance of this beer is its best quality. Frothy white head with excellent lacing. Medium amber body with a vinegar initial flavor. Metallic finish with a slight astringent tinge. NOT GOOD.
