ಠַಠ (1375), San Francisco, California, USA Nov 12, 2004 Bottle. Hazy orange-yellow, huge head. Slightly woody aroma followed by an excellent and straightforward flavor but with some nuances in there if you taste for it. This is like "The Simpsons" of beer; I can see appeal on many different levels. Some fruity flavors, mild holiday spice, crisp. Very good and satisfying finish; this would be a great fridge beer if I could get some of it around here. Spiesy (2333), Global Citizen, Greater London, England Nov 11, 2004 Updated: Jul 9, 2005Bottled, picked up in Brugge.Foggy, white misted amber. Dull malt flavour amongst the large, slightly astringent aroma. Dull, dry and coarse flavour and palate.
Also had at the Belgian Fest in East Croydan and had to add this to the rating for Duff. ’Duff says bready caramel, Wow, woo hoo yeh....carmel’. pintbypint (1002), Edmonton, Alberta, Canada Nov 5, 2004 330ml brown bottle.Aromas of fruit(pear, lemon), honey and iron. Clear amber, off white head is long lasting and solid. Malt and caramel start, fruity-hoppy middle and bitter hop finish. Seems a bit too carbonated, but enjoyable nonetheless. dirkules (613), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Nov 2, 2004 All the same characteristics of the usual Steenberge suspects although it’s drier, more metallic and clearly the most bitter of the bunch. Meh! hotstuff (3175), Indiana, USA Oct 31, 2004 Bottle. Large, creany/smooth ivory head, fair lacing, transparent, carbonated, and an orange hue. Malty, fruity and spicy aroma. Malty and caramel flavor. Mouthfeel was a little tingly. Medium bodied beer. Worth a try. bb (2905), Martinez, California, USA Oct 27, 2004 Bottle. Hazy orange-amber with a nice whitish head. Yeasty aroma with a touch of a lemon sweet/sour. Flavors of yeast, lemon, some richer fruit. Jut enough of a malt body. Good silky texture. More and more orange showing as you drink it. But still reminds me a bit of a lemondrop - not the drink- the candy. Steib (574), Queen Creek, Arizona, USA Oct 25, 2004 Dark golden color with a big frothy wihite head. Sweet, tart semi-hoppy aroma. Initial taste was mellow, a lighter body. Has ginger notes and soda like carbonation. A nice dry, somewhat bitter aftertaste. Full flavor is the exception, still a nice drinkable beer. eleusis (70), Denver, Colorado, USA Oct 23, 2004 Bottle. I liked it and would drink it again. A little watery, highly carbonated, very drinkable with a light malt aftertaste. A simple beer, but enjoyable.
