| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Sep 18, 2004 Cloudy brown orange color with frothy white tenacious head that just does not dissapate at all. Aroma is sweet, subtle fruit notes, some candi sugar, faint caramel. Flavor is slightly sweet, malty, with a dry, slightly bitter finish, with a very faint metallic-like aftertaste. It’s a good brew . . . in no way is it excellent, but it’s good. jimmack (1221), Nutley, New Jersey, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Sep 12, 2004 Dark amber color with a medium size
off white head. Yeasty aroma. Flavor
of malt at first, then gives way to a spicy, yeasty, somewhat tart finish.
Metallic aftertaste. Not sure if this was
a bad bottle or not, I hope so. duff (5475), Surrey, Greater London, England
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Aug 28, 2004 Bottle. On the bland side for a Be;gian ale. This had some reasonable orange rind and spice flavours (maybe a touch of caramel aswell??), however the character didn’t strike me as particularly Belgian, easy to drink. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 22, 2004 11.2 oz. / 330 ml. brown Belgian stubbie bottle. Cryptic date code on the back label, and that’s about it for a freshness date. Part of a Belgian six pack sampler I got at Rips. Poured out a dark caramel color, with a decent, but short lived white head. The head slid back to a decent matting of lacing floating on top of the beer. Thick aromas of malts along with the spicy Belgian yeast makes for a delicious experience. This is a decent beer, even though the ABV is lower than it’s bigger brothers. The tastes are definitely there, and leave you wanting more. More than decent in my book.
Try some for yourself. NYHarvey (2154), New York, New York, USA

| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Aug 6, 2004 Pours a deep orange color with a super thick, long lasting white head that I didn’t think would ever die down. Very heavy lacing. Notes of spice and not much more. Pretty bland taste with a slight bite. Nothing special here. mongkut4 (132), Florida, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Aug 2, 2004 A customer at my favorite beer store recommended this and given that we both like similar ales I thought I’d give it a try. It’s not bad, really. Unfortunately it’s not really very good either. Weak flavor and those tiny biting champagne like bubbles (I’m not fond of this quality in beer). I could drink it but I wouldn’t seek it out. grat (433), ST. Louis, Missouri, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Aug 1, 2004 What a head. I had to wait ten minutes just to make the second pour. Very smooth. Nose is reminiscent of Unibroue beers. Same yeasty profile as the brewery from canada. However a better malt presence and with less yeasty dominance. Slightly dry. I could drink this in volumes.
