Commercial Description:
Bruegel is an easy drinking soft and tasty amber ale. Thanks to the refermentation it offers more body, more head and more taste than most other American and Belgian Amber ales. It is brewed with Dutch barley and German hops. Although the bitterness is clearly present, it is not dominant.

Cloudy Amber Coloring. Yeasty. Of the Belgians I have had...gotta shoot this one down towards the bottom.

Bought this in a Flanders, Belgium 6pk. ( global beer network promotion) Amber color, white fizzy head. Slight malt, a little breadyish. This is one of the better ones in the pack.

330 mL bottle from Greenwood Gourmet Grocery near Crozet, VA. Pours a reddish amber color, slightly hazy, with a surprisingly small head considering it was such an explosive gusher. Decent head retention and nice lacing. Odd aroma of toasted malts, caramel, raisins and a slight tart note. Taste is toasted malts, caramel, toffee and bitter hops. Full bodied. Strange one.

Golden brown, huge head, good lacing. Fruity, perfume, yeasty. Very carbonated; clean crisp finish - very light on the tongue.

Neat color (amber / orange) and head on this one. However, a bit light and over carbonated for the sour citrus flavor behind it. Can catch you off guard (kinda like expecting sprite and unknowingly sipping a bottle of carbonated water). If you don’t like Belgians, this one definitely won’t win you over. If you like Belgians, its on par with an average beer.

Bottle: Poured a clear light amber color ale with a big foamy head with great retention and lacing. Aroma of sweet malt is a bit overpowering with too much sugar. Taste is also exceedingly sweet with no yeast characteristic and a light body that doesn’t really hold up very well. I also didn’t notice any bitterness as mentioned in the description. Definitely not something that I would seek again.

Pours a clear copper. The aroma is a bit of overripe candied apple. Some slight brown sugar in the flavor as well. This has a bit of the taste of extract beer, though.
